BN Travel: #BellaNaijaWeddings in South Africa – Wedding Expo & Adventure – A Week Later, SA Still on My Mind!
Hi beautiful BN-ers,
It’s been a week since I left SA and I tell you, adjusting back to the hustle and bustle that’s life and work hasn’t been easy 😀
I had a fabulous time exploring the wedding expo in JoBurg 2 weeks ago – here’s my intro of the recap.
I’ll show you more of the expo – did you know some international wedding brands have their only African stores in SA? Find out who! … and a little bit of the adventure. Did I try on dresses? Did I bungee jump? Hmm let’s find out shall we? Lol
So where did I leave you – YES at the Expo.
Yayyy. Have my press pass! Ready to go. @TraveltoSA1 pic.twitter.com/n6ndjRE19F

As I mentioned before, right next to the door were gorgeous detailed cakes –
This was the 1st time they ever displayed this black cake. Yes, I know you might be thinking – black, for a wedding? But they customize according to your wedding dress or decor – anything you want!
Also from Annica’s Designer Cakes –
I so enjoyed working and playing. After seeing the amazing cakes by Annica’s Designer Cakes, it was only natural that I grabbed one from the SA Tourism booth. Abi? 😉
Sparkly cupcake during my break! Just had a foot massage too. #heaven Lol! @TraveltoSA1 pic.twitter.com/bOYs5RvJ9O

The fashion show was right around the corner – at 11 am! There were several throughout the day. At this one, I grabbed a front row seat ready to snap away. The MC made everyone feel right at home with his humor – even the grooms – he told them to exercise their wrists ^_^
I really enjoyed all the gowns – from vintage, to convertible (taking off a layer, revealing another dress underneath) to blingy corseted beauties, there was something for every style.
My fave collection was from F Wilson:.

(excuse the *typo – was too excited!)

Convertible wedding gowns from New Romantics:
For the classic bride! Ballgowns from Biji Couture:
After this fashion show there were many others, some with little brides and grooms – so cute! & more designers.
I started walking around the booths, taking it all in.
I saw the Pronovias space – it was gorgeousss! They were doing consultations with brides there and then. Exciting moment, I could tell.
Also exclusively in SA (in the whole of Africa) – Benjamin Adams London. I LOVE their shoes, because they can dye them after the wedding so you can keep them for a lifetime.
I also reeeeeally loved the decor I saw. Super impressed.
Nnamota rental services had amaaaazing green, white & black décor @TraveltoSA1 pic.twitter.com/juO9H1mENN

& then that was it at the wedding expo!!!
I wish I had done henna & tried on rings – a girl can dream right?! Lol. Maybe next time!
Now time for adventure — hehe
In JoBurg, we went bungee jumping.
I felt so small! Imagine how small we are compared to mountains and such. You really feel nature’s majesty.
Me and my new Kenyan friends – journalists, brides and their sisters/friends.
“We” did but I had some braai instead (South African BBQ) Lol. I gave moral support to the people that were brave enough.
Me taking a selfie while they bungee jumped. SMH at me Lol:
After many fun times in JoBurg, Cape Town was just delightful. We started off with a scenic ride “straight” from the airport!
Table Mountain:
Also went wine tasting at a vineyard. I brought some wine and chocolate back home. Had to.
I had to kiss the #wine Lol — @TraveltoSA1 #capetown — pic.twitter.com/Mpc2ZkhZJY

So that was it! I had so much fun and I hope you enjoyed reading my recap. If you’re a bride, I definitely recommend JoBurg as a must stop for shopping – some of the Kenyan brides got their wedding dresses after the expo – they showed me pics on their phones of them tearing up at their fittings (sigh, so cute).
Cape Town would make an amaaazing honeymoon option. Beaches, views to live for and wine and chocolate *ahem* Let the romance begin.
All in all a great trip! Till next time,
xoxo Ink
