A #BBNWonderland Love Story! Titi & Shola – “I Put Him in the Friend Zone for a Year before we Dated”

#BBNWonderland bride Titilope was so excited when she won the Atunbi Photography package at BellaNaija Weddings and Baileys Nigeria‘s WONDERLAND on 10/10/2015! The package includes this stunning pre-wedding shoot, wedding photography and a keepsake photo album.

Two weeks later – this past Sunday, Atunbi Adesanmi, founder and lead photographer, captured the couple in their element at the bride’s family house in Lagos. Titi and her family made Atunbi and his team feel right at home, as her lovely mother spoilt them with special Sunday rice!

Titi’s love story started out in a situation many ladies are in – she put Shola in the ‘friend zone’ for over a year, and then lied she had a boyfriend when he asked her out … how time flies, they are getting married in December.

Our Love Story
by Titi, the brideWe met at a karaoke bar. Naturally I do not give my number out in random places, and I think it’s stupid to give a fake number when you can just be honest; but some weird feeling in me (plus my friend eyeing me at the corner) made me do it.We then started off as friends. Over a year later, he took me out one particular day and asked me to be his girlfriend. I probably should have started off introducing myself to you – then, I did not know what it was like to “date”. Friendship I’m great at, but dating… ‘Ki lon je be?’ (translation: what is that?).

So the weird Titi kicked in and my knee-jerk reaction made me say I was already taken. I mean I was comfortable at the friend-zone and wasn’t expecting more.Plus, I just came back from my vacation and an old crush was still talking about having feelings for me. However, Shola was determined and relentless. He teased that my “American boyfriend” wouldn’t last and went from regular friend to amazing sweetheart – I honestly couldn’t resist. I accepted this first proposal and then the real one came the following year on my birthday. I never do anything special, but he did that for me which already blew me away. The details of that day are so hilarious, but close to our hearts; I can’t wait to tell our kids *hehe*.In short, he finally made it to one knee (after most of the alcohol had been passed out), asked me to be his wife, I said YES! We kissed, and he got up and to everyone that passed he introduced me as his wife. He is indeed a good man and I thank God every day for hooking me up big time.
