BN Red Carpet Fab: 2009 Genevieve Pink Ball
Posted on Thursday, May 28th, 2009 at 12:34 PMBy Ijeoma Ndekwu
Genevieve Magazine recently hosted Pink Ball. An event aimed at being a platform to raise awareness on breast cancer and raise funds. Nothing beats the explosive combination of a good cause and fashion. And a good day for fashion it was! BN Red Carpet Fab was there to witness it all: the glitz, the glam and the dazzling pink hues that swept the carpet. There was a lot of Pink gorgeousness to last a lifetime, well…maybe just till the next one!
African: These ladies chose to bring forth the divine and richness of African fabrics and textures. The cuts of their dresses absolutely flatter their silhouettes and what an alluring way to go, with the girly and dramatic cuts. From the tiered dress to the rise and fall hem, these ladies displayed an interesting variety that was every bit fashionably appealing!

Brights: Who says you can never go any brighter than pink? These ladies add a pop to their dresses, with bright embellishments and accessories. Silver, gold, sequins and a splash of colours like yellow, orange and turquoise enhance the lush of their pink dresses.

im feeling the very qwirky dress worn by Funmi….and the
Ok..for me, Bisola Fajemirokun was my best dressed from the pictures shown. The Tiffany amber dresses are all cool as well and some of the short dresses..
I usually like Deola Sagoe designs but that dress Funmi Iyanda has on is not working for me..tis a bit out there
I also like Nkiru anumundu (sans the scary face) ‘s look..
These ladies really did it with the PINK…I normally hate pink but these women and designers have helped me to have a change of heart…
all the dresses are very beautiful…
…Jimmy choos as worn by SJP in sex and the city: the movie…love very few of the looks..but if they feel great ..who am i to complain!!!

I wore that Oyinda Taiwo’s for my sisters wedding nau..
Predictable stuff here jo
most certainly feeling Funmi’s dress. Please Where can one get the Tifanny Amber dresses and what do they run? How much? Those dresses were on point.
I felt this article was lacking the usual depth of a Bellanaija event fashion review.
Okay just went over the attached slideshow and I’m kinda disappointed. I don’t think a lot of the better outfits made it to the showcase. We should have also had a section for the non conformists.
err…..f,
the shoes funmi iyanda was wearing is MANOLO BLAHNIK not JIMMY CHOOS…..
my Bad Manolos they are..just remb seeing them from sex and the city…no need to get you knickers all up in a twist..but thanks for the corrction.
are you guys sure though because its the same color yes but i believe SATC shoes came with a 41/4 heel and on her they almost look like flats. I’m sure she can afford it as per lagos big girl but mid and low range designers like Steve madden and co like to make good copies of premium designer.
Post not meant to offend oh.
lol..the angle of her leg makes it hard to tell./..oh well… !!
Why nobody like Funke Akindele style?…..lol
i thot she looked okay. A bit underdressed for a ball. I think she shops at nordstrom a lot though LOL! I’ve seen her in a lot of Maggy London and Adrianna Papell dresses. Not that that’s a bad thing.
Aisha Babangida is ELEGANT;Kate Henshaw-Nuttal was regal; the rest were ok.
e go shock una sey na knock off she dey wear
i got tired of looking at the pics in the slide cos nothing popped jare…all so predictable….nothing special at all
I like Adaure the best jare!
KATE HENSHAW DROPPED IT HOT
Can I just say Tiffany Amber rocks! The only ppl that stood out for me were Kate Henshaw Nuttal (She’s becoming one of my favs in terms of red carpet looks) and Aisha Babangida was really elegant with a little dash of mystery. All the others…. okay/blah , for me!
mehn, thise Tiffany Amber dresses are on POINT. You can detect the quality from a distance, clean, regal, ON POINT O!
and Kate Henshaw fills a dress like no other.nice nice…
what is with Oluchi’s outfit, it sucked big time.
Eeuuww, what is Funmi Iyanda wearing! What’s up with the ashy knees? I don’t care if the shoe is a designers or not, it just does not fit. I am sure shoes made in Aba or Oshodi would have fitted better than that nonsense she has on.
H.
You must be her friend because I’m sorry going by your “popped theory” she didn’t pop either
lol!people kill me on facebook!ha!ha!
This isn’t facebook…
Like Madea would say in her southern accent, “Hell to the Naaaaaaaw.”
This is a travesty! Some of the outfits rocked, but the majority are fashion disasters of immense proportions from the pits of “what not to wear” hades. I thought Nigerians were more fashionable than this. Now, Bjork and her little pelican around her neck seem like Marchesa next to these ladies. Get it together!
damn, ppl should just free this woman!!! haba!! knock offs? shes comfortable enough to afford a manolo. haba! haters!!!
You’re just a hater…those are the SATC Manolos! Geez haven’t you got eyes???
What is Funke Akindele diving in?
Jeezzzz! Brace up baby, that outfit is a no-no!
FOLAKE COKER IS COOL IN HER DRESS AS WELL AS FUNKE D JENIFA……OTHERS A OK TOO.
FOLAKE COKER IS GORGEOUS…………………..FUNKE D JENIFA IS COOL AND PETITE………………………..OTHERS A IN THEIR BEST FORM
Genarally, dresses okay. What was Zizi thinking….it wasnt a costume party,Oyinda Taiwo Red shoes on Fushia pink OMG,Funmi Iyanda….we just getting used to her wak fashion sense so what if they manolos!
Love Mrs Fasholas dress,Mariam B,Bisola F,Tiffany effortless
Alot of ladies need fashion consultants
The Tiffany Amber dressed ladies rocked the ball.
Why or WHY are there so many FAT Nigerian women? Its becoming quite and epidemic. I mean, we can even cut the older ladies some slacj even though they have no excuse for looking so robust and round but some of these ladies haven’t even had kids and some only one. WTF?? Ladies, exercise is your friend…play with it.
The Tiffany Amber ladies def rocked it as for Funmi and Florence… I mean really!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Manolos or not, she’s not working it and more to the point they don’t look like a good fit for her feet!
a lot of these women look really good for their age.
although some of the older women seem to be bleaching (its kinda obvious) they all look stunning. i liked 80% of all the dresses.
naija babes are hott.
i wish i was famous in nigeria and i could go to all the red carpets just to get dressed up and posted on the internet.
NAIJA 4 LIFE!!!
Nina Garcia said it best: the quickest way to look cheap (for clothing) is short, tight and shiny…. only a few people look decent with Oluchi looking her greatest as always…Where did all the older fat women come from?…the Nkiru lady is scaring the bejesus out of me, STOP BLEACHING ITS STUPID…
funmi iyanda n that princess somethin lady(one of the twins) look absolutely gorgeous! I love!
Kate henshaw never disappoint. I dont know about Funmi iyanda dress, so not working for me.
sulia kan ayetoro kan o ti affect e gan!!!!! hmmmmmm ow far you.u no try atall.pls u re a celeb try n encourage ur fans;be fashion conscious.Bella naija pls help her
not denying the fact that Grace Egbabe looks sexy for her age,she should also watch what she wears at this stage.such dresses make her look much older,at the same time,it’s too busy.there’s just too much going on there.i’m simply not feeling her looks.generally, some outfits rocked, others were simply overdone.
Kate Henshaw wore it best 4 me! Dang!!! So on fire.and d ppl dat wore blue n d rest, dint dey hear dat its pink ball?na wa o!dresses for me were whack! Jst abt 20% rocked!!!*thumbs down* not feelg ds red carpet!
U look really cool Folake. Do u remember me? Am Salieu’s sista. Regards
