New Video: Show Dem Camp (SDC) feat. Lucci – So Appalled
Posted on Wednesday, April 6th, 2011 at 8:19 AMBy BellaNaija.com

“So Appalled” is Show Dem Camp‘s humorous take on the current election process in Nigeria.
According to SDC, “We believe social commentary is an important part of this process and feel we as artists have a responsibility to use our voice to comment on what we see in front of us.”
Check on it.

this video is the definition of HILARIOUS, all politicians should watch this
surely this is a mini movie, long nd not great rap average at best. U can tell the intellectual rap is not their forte…..some funnny clips in d movie tho
it shld ve had more rap!
oh puleeze seriously…. they aren’t amateurs. It was possibly their intention to make the video in that style….. Jeez!
i was tempted not to comment, but this statement is pure nonsense. if you knew anything about rap you would never make that statement. all their music is intelligent actually, and i’m a huge fan. You must either be a rapper or an upset woman because these guys are distinguished and brave. all from the upper class (check their backgrounds, PEDIGREE) and have stuck their necks out for their people. They didn’t have to as i can guarantee you, none of them need to do this to get on. I went to atlantic hall with three of them
I don’t see the relevance of your comment about them being from “the upper class”. Really, last time I checked, men were measured by the value of their output and not because they attended “atlantic hall”. Please, do not raise unnecessary issues when all that is being discussed is the quality of the work on offer. In the interest of honesty being the best policy, you come across as extremely shallow.
That being said, I did have fun with this. It was not intended to be the rap video of our time but gets the message across.
At honesty…, “They didn’t have to stick their necks out for the people” Oh really? They would do that for us? How noble and gallant of them. What heroes they are. Would you like to dedicate a statue in their honor?
You speak as though stable electricity or security or adequate infrastructure wouldn’t benefit the upper class. So they went to A. Hall, who gives a rat’s behind? It’s a good thing that they are interested in politics and the nation’s welfare, but merely spitting out the words do not make you a good rapper. There’s an artistry to rap that few have mastered, M.I and Naeto being great examples. Please check your misguided defense before spewing it out.
OMG are you serious! bcos you went to Alantic Hall with them you are assuming they have some money still somewhere. Joker! believe me one or more of them need(s) the money. what is the rubbish about pedigree? its jokers like you that make these people feel important. one of them tried this rap thing from years back in uni whislt going round in circles on his education and wasting the so called money you think he’s got. don’t beleive the hype, personally as people they are all lossers, big time. I hope the rapping thing works for them cos thats about it now!
important part of what process first comment
i must confess o this is a special kind of song and nice concept
@everbrite i know you are entitled to your own opinions but maybe you should pay a little more attention to the lyrics of the song than focus on looking for more rap! The idea of the song is pretty clear, they just made it funny. Its called a Satire. If you are looking for more rap go and download their mixtape and listen to their other songs “Farabale”, “Dreamer”. Im glad you acknowledged the funny clips but if you pay attention its more than that… This is a movement, the youth are speaking out and we are not afraid… big ups to Show Dem Camp. I am a loyal fan!
Good effort. But the message is confusing. So all the parties are bad? Hardly. Some are better than others.
“Owo da, mi o le so o lasan”. I really hope she knew it wasn’t a real political party, otherwise, there’d be lots to infer about even the most politically unaware of Nigerians from that one statement. Also, all these Naij artistes who use American rappers’ dope beats (this time it’s Kanye’s “So Appalled”) should know that with increased popularity comes payback, and payback is a female dog.
With the initial waste of 2:30mins, unimpressive lyrical technique, horrific acting & the extra long video, I tried to watch it all but my brain cells were exiting one after the other. Overall, the effort at social commentaryis appreciated but half-baked. If you’re gonna do a satiric song/video, please do it right…at least try.
Very creative…
Good job SDC
Even me gaan sef: I AM SDC, I AM SHOW DEM CAMP!!!! (my fav pronouncer was the guy in the red polo at 0:36, he said it with such passion haha and the tailor at 0.51was having way too much fun with it lol )

I love this song and video.. Subliminals! … Creative!
Na wah! Orisirisi! I understand the point but there was no need for the swearing! Cheapens things IMHO
@ready, if this commentary/ short film is an avenue that demonstrates 1′s view on the political system is it really up to us to criticise or simply to embrace. Everyone has their opinions but so far persons have not gone the whole nine yards to have their voices be heard. I say cudos to SDC whether it be on an original set of beats or a knock off, the bottom line is ppl are hearing, watching embracing and provoked. Keep it up gentlemen, keep it up.
the woman at the 1:15 mark, i hope she was kidding when she said “owo da mi o le so lasan..” (translation:i cant just say it without receiving money).
Sadly, attitudes like this is part of what makes corrupt politicians get away with their schemes. A friend recently told me that one of the parties (I won’t say who) was giving out N300 to market women & crowds to buy their votes. What he found remarkable was that most of these people were bold enough to join the long queue to get free money- in broad day light!
Compare it to the 4 milion naira got each from ONE MAAAAN and the 250,000 dollars it cost to make the advert
this is a pretty good video, no dispute about that. But it could have been better, they are ways of passing messages, and i feel they could have made it more hilarious. it is a good rap. But i expected more from the video!
Even though i speak zero yoruba, that old lady made me laff out loud…..
People please, this isnt supposed to be grammy quality rap song/video…I doubt that was their intention…..Its a parody of the mess we have going on in our country right now; So pls easy with the nit-picking….
A few days ago BN readers were in knots about Nollywood “selling” thier votes and that thread is still active…. Now we have another end of the spectrum yet more complaints… Na wa oo….Wetin person go do correctly for this my country people?
I say well played, very funny but message def sent across…….
@beezy no one disputes the fact that the video sends out a good message or not. All i’m saying is the video quality, or to be more expressive, the ideas in the video could have been improved upon. i’m not complaining, this is just positive criticism
This was a really good video. Well thought out, funny and the rap was intelligent. SDC are the most intelligent artists in Nigeria right now. I agree the swearing was not ncessary. Or there should have been a clean version. It didnt really add anything to what we dont know but in a time where we are all fearful of the Poverty Development Party (PDP) rigging elections the video eases the fear…if not briefly.
Very weird video! Plus its kinda dangerous for them too, But see their point!
this song is just dangerous jokes!!
who cares about their rap been great its all about the concept of the video and the message in it. if u want to listen to good rap song listen to the likes of jay z and lil wayne…wit that been said i think they tried they get A for effort.
SDC!!!!!! LOVE YOU GUYS(NO HOMO)
Eight minutes, seven seconds of my life gone, plus the seconds I spent typing this…
lool
@ lande. Why Judge, you sound like one of these guys offended you at some point in your life! Most artists will do anything for a buck including sell their souls to political aspirants in return for a song praising them! These guys have not sold their souls and are just showing things as they are. The political situation in this country is nothing to write home about its just sad and you call people that stand up to say something about it losers. Now I know why Nigeria is suffering. When last did you try to make a difference for your country!!! Great work SDC! I am SDC! I love my country! And am disgusted at people that think Judging makes a difference!!! There is positive criticism and then there is just hating!!!
I am quite surprised by some of the negative comments here. I dont care if they are useless.. Their music is great….
Don’t knw y anyone would beef these guys..no be anybody money dem take do the video..if u like then double twale 4 u..they have set out to do their own thing..speak their minds which is something many Nigerians dey fear to do..they speak for the youths and everyone else..if u no like am,go hug transformer…miss A-Hall,I went to school wiv them and knw each of them better than anyone else, but that is not something something u shld bring up here..their music and goals has nthng to do wiv their schools..I love what they do..I love “Mr Tifu Tifu” ft Sound Sultan…anyone that’s hating them shld go do their own track make we see how far…SDC are set to take over the music industry within the area of hip-hop..they are the best…live with it…if u don’t understand th words,go carry dictionary…SDC Rules
SDC for life…u need to take the time to listen to the words of the songs..there’s a message embedded in every song..
@lande i totally agree education, class, and money have little to do when considering music. But, aren’t you judging them on the same fact? by mentioning things that have nothing to do with this forum. Why not relax, enjoy the music…you have to admit it was pretty funny. SDC, please continue. I’m sure people like lande are only motivation. I AM SDC!
