I actually like Darey’s outfit. It’s different and retro.
Linda’s dress is nice, however she looks like she’s going to work or to the office. She should have worn this dress to the Seminar she had this/last week and then she should have worn the jumpsuit she wore there to this event. Linda and Dan Foster in the same place? *coughs*

Please what does the title “Dame” stand for? I still don’t understand why Nigerians are so crazy about titles! An engineer with a bachelors would want you to use Engr. as a prefix; a lawyer would want you to use Barr.; an architect would want you to use Arch. I know that in the British honors system, a Dame is the female equivalent of a Knight, but how does that apply in Nigeria? Why is Fashola’s wife addressed as a dame? Did she get an OBE from the Queen?
Good question. I suggest you refer this question to Mrs. Jonathan or better still, ask your village oracle.
I think it’s from the Catholic church. Knight of St Mulumba and so on. But he’s a Moslem so maybe she was given the Dame alone without Fashola getting the Knighthood.
Dame or Sir is used to address the females and males respectively who have been honoured in the Anglican church. “Lady” is used in the catholic church. In the Catholic Church,people are awarded the title when they have been outstanding but that is after going thru series of processes: one of which is thru a bann, just like u have Banns of marriage.

WHAT HAPPENED TO NIGERIA BIKONU?
The way we Nigerians are embracing western/American culture is absurd. The dresses get shorter, the skin is super bleached the fake hair, nails are longer,etc we are copying it all. Where is the African in us bck home because those of us living in the Western countries are not nearly as Western as those back home, “why” you ask. It is because we are desparately trying to preserve the little that is left of our beautiful culture. I am not saying do not live a comfy life but please not at the expense of the parts of who we are that is beautiful, wonderful and precious.
