D’Banj’s “Oliver Twist” Gets a Shout Out on American Daytime Talk Show – Live! with Kelly and Michael

D’Banj‘s “Oliver Twist” dropped in Nigeria way back in 2011 and it still manages to find new ways to get into the news.

Live! with Kelly and Michael is an American syndicated morning talk show, hosted by Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan. This week on their Tuesday April 2 2013 show, they discussed about the perfect music to work out to at the gym and D’Banj‘s “Oliver Twist” was the number three song. Psy‘s “Gangnam Style” was number five. Check around the 6.05 mark in the video for the full scoop.

Check on it!

Nigerians LIVE out their American fantasies everyday in films, music videos, mode of dressing, in conversations etc and Americans aren’t proclaiming it the greatest things since cellular phones BUT check out Nigerians having heart palpitations because D’banj was mentioned on a morning show in New York. We are still looking for a nod of approval from outside of ourselves. The mention should just be a given because he is a star in his own right, it should just be a given just like Nigerians talk about Jigga, Kanye without it being a big deal because it is just a given that they are stars. No need for the bold headlines and grand announcement. YOU GO D’BANJ!
