Didi, Ghana Weaving, Bob Marley…What Hairstyles Did You Rock before Brazilian Hair?

Battabox says;

Before human hair weaves and hair extensions became popular, Nigerian women used to pay lots of attention to their natural hair, rocking creative hairstyles with interesting names.

“Telephone wire, the hair looked like the old telephone wire,”says one lady

BattaBox presenter Adeola hits the streets of Lagos to talk about hair. Before the era of Brazilian hair, what hairstyles did women make?

“I normally make didi,” one lady replies

Most of these hair styles are either named after what the style looks like or a person, some of which are Bob-Marley, Ghana weaving, box braids, police catch thief etc

Adeola further asked how their first Brazilian weave felt …

“I felt so cool,”

“I went everywhere so people could see my new hair,” laughs one lady

      LOL as in! It was as if the interviewer specifically went in search of people NOT wearing brazillian hair for the interviews. Which was a bit ironic…
