That’s ludicrous! I’ve heard there are a dozen or more “startup” retailers, and to me KASUWA stood out of the lot for its cool, commonsense, local name. Kasuwa. Market. Buy stuff. Makes sense.
I hope Jumia means something too? (related to Jamia – some meeting/exchange place?)

Sounds ridiculous to me too. err, Jumia, what exactly do you guys do – electronics, beauty products or what? I’m getting a bit dizzy trying to understand it all. And yep, that name is defo not cool.

Hmm. I don’t get it. Why does an “overwhelming response of Nigerians to Kasuwa’s offerings” call for a change of name? Be straight with us, Kasuwa. Be straight with us. *side eye*

Hello Blossom,
Jumia aims to be the largest online store in Africa. Jumia Nigeria is cooperating with operations in Egypt, Morocco and other locations across the African continent. Jumia is better equipped to fulfill the growing demand for online shopping in Nigeria as we will have a larger network to leverage, which means better selection of brands and products for our customers and even better pricing. We hope you join us on our journey to becoming Africa’s No. 1 Online shop.
Thank you,
Jumia Nigeria team

Hello Akingbade, your existing Kasuwa account with your order history and contact information will remain valid on Jumia.com.ng. The only changes to anticipate are, an even wider selection of products available, faster delivery times and better pricing. We truly appreciate your business.

I love Jumia, they have a wide range of products and at a resonable price and their delivery time is impeacable. But service I enjoy the most is the opportunity to payon delivery,
