OC Ukeje has at best THREE lines in the movie Half of a Yellow sun, why is he being nominated for a Best Supporting role for something that was tantamount to a cameo appearance? Same goes for Genevieve who appeared in two scenes with about 5 lines of dialogue?

The NEA should just be a MUSIC awards, they should stop fooling around with trying to include film in their nominations because they never get it right. Not only don’t they get it right, they never GET TO THAT PART OF THE AWARD with all the musical acts that they put on through the night. This is why actors/actresses NEVER bother going to their award shows because they are treated like red headed step children! If you treat them like they are part of the show, they will come but if you keep treating them as afterthoughts, they will treat your show as such as well.

OC Ukeje was EXCELLENT in Confusion Na Wa, why was he not nominated for that? Or is it because HOAYS was filled with Hollywood stars and a big budget film? Hilariousssssss.

    This is a joke.

Please who came up with these nominations biko???!! Why oh why is Phyno not nominated in the best indigenous artist category?? And why is Skelewu nominated for best video instead of AYE….seriously?????! Why nominate Ayoola?? what has he sang this year that is worthy of recognition…sorry to say but that spot should have been given to Niyola, ”toh bad” was a really good song and definitely more memorable than Ayoola’s singles this past year (love Ayoola BTW, but just saying).
I totally agree with Mr Segun Arinze, Blossom Chukwujekwu should have been nominated for either “Flower girl” or “Finding Mercy” Haba!!! the negro has tried na. In my opinion sha oo some of these categories are just plain annoying. Mtchewwwwwww *Drops mic*

The best album I’ve heard in a long time is Olamide’s BGEL. I love Jesse’s work madly but the Jagz Nation album was not immediate, took a while to grip you. In this world of overrated thrash and underrated treasure, I’m glad there is you…

Under best music video, you can see that there have been good music videos.

Under best rap act, my heart is moved. I’m like, shout out to Eva. Phyno. Olamide. SDC. Ice Prince. Jesse (we’re out of the game, Baby!) Jagz. All of y’all.

Most of the other categories have what I consider junk or stuff that’s outside my range of interest, so I can’t judge. Same thing when I saw the MAMA lists, I was like, can’t expect them to share my good taste lol. Moving on.

Common….how is Genny’s name on the list sef? I am sure there many more others who have done much more in other movies than what she did in half a yellow sun…..besides if we are honest to our selves, she hasn’t done much in entertaining the last 2 yrs.

…and why would you write “Niki” not “Nikki” Laoye? Or “Baddest BOY…” instead of “Baddest Guy Ever Liveth” ? It’s either somebody doesn’t really care about details (forgivable) or (unforgivable) they’re just making this shi’ up and they don’t really know the industry. What is NEA?
