Boko Haram attacked three villages in Borno State yesterday morning, leaving 42 people dead.

The invasion occurred in Kanari, Wazarde, and Gula villages located along Nigeria’s border with Cameroon, Vanguard reports.

Armed with petrol bombs, assault rifles, improvised explosive devices and other lethal weapons, the terrorists wrecked havoc on the villages for seven consecutive hours.

Borno State Commissioner of Police, Lawal Tanko, allegedly said he was not aware of the attack. However, other security authorities in the state confirmed the occurence of the attacks.

This is a State that is supposed to be in a state of emergency. They attacked for 7 hours? And we have a government? Why can’t federal government take over that State? If you can’t stop them now, what will happen if they move fully to Abuja?
