88 beauty queens, 1 crown!
The competition is definitely a tough one for the 2014 Miss Universe pageant with 88 countries in the run to be crowned Miss Universe.
The preliminary event held yesterday night with the 88 contestants being introduced to the world (and the judges). For the event the beauty queens showed off their swimwear looks and evening gown.
From this event 15 women will be chosen to be a part of the finale which will take place on Sunday, January 25.
The top 15 winners are still being deliberated but we are hopeful that one or two African beauties will move into the final stage.
