LFDW 2014 Fashion Focus Finalist, Omowunmi Owonifari of Mofari presents her S/S2015 Collection – “Avatar”

Mofari Avatar SS2015 Collection Lookbook - Bellanaija - June2015039

This fashion label was one of the top 15 Fashion Focus finalists at the GTBank Lagos Fashion & Design Week for 2014 and they are back with a colourful and whimsical collection.

From womenswer label, Mofari, we present a Spring/Summer 2015 collection titled “Avatar“.

According to the designer, Omowunmi Owonifari – “It was only natural that I reflected on what I had learnt as a person and as a designer.” Her reflection ties in with the Avatar of a tree which she translates through patience, perseverance and persistence – which are also the ethos of the Mofari fashion label.

Featuring model Ndidi Odogwu, the collection plays with various elements – from red kisses & half-capes to lace overlays and tropical prints. We love its fun vibe that plays to character and style.

is that a model or a video vixen.
the clothes do nothing for me.

the “model” is part of the reason why I don’t like the clothes.

nigerian fashion “designers” pls a model can make or break ur clothes. pls hire real models with real model bodies and stop hiring your friends or ur cousins or ur neice or family friend.

there’s a difference between a fashion model and a video vixen and a beauty pageant girl and a tv personality etc.

the way this girl posed in the second picture (wearing that white dress) made me lose my excitement about this collection. no real fashion model will ever pose like that, ever.
pls save that pose for instagram.

pls hush ur stinking mouth if you have nothing to say. cos of pple like u and their negative comments u paint pple bad. if u are a fashionista u will definitely know the name Ndidi Odogwu. SHE IS A PROFESSIONAL MODEL AND NOT A VIDEO VIXEN. I guess u need to change ur name cos it seems its affecting ur thinking. Appreciate and don’t Hate…… Mofari good work and Ndidi well done. u did a good job….

I agree wt Bruno on the model used. Nt appealing enuf. Creative designs bt a little more work on the tailoring esp. d finishing n d joining of d sleeves to d shoulders.

THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL PIECES. THEY ARE VERY WEARABLE BUT FINISHING IS POOR. THE GREEN DRESS FOR EXAMPLE, NICE DESIGN BUT THE FINISHING/ ATTENTION TO DETAIL IS SO BAD. LOOKS HAND STITCHED IN SOME PLACES TO SAY THE LEAST. I’M NOT HERE TO RUN THE DESIGNER DOWN BUT JUST THROWING SOME CORRECTIVE CRITICISM. CAN DO BETTER. CHEERS………make it work.

This is another thing that annoys me with nigerian fashion designers….for Christ sake I saw the collection on the lfdw runway in October last year and you are just releasing thee Lookbook now? 8 MONTHS AFTER! I swear these fashion PEOPLE don’t take their work seriously

    • bruno FIERCE

      June 12, 2015 at 2:28 pm

      @ebiere.

don’t mimd them. very unserious people. this is nigeria so things are done any how. nobody gives a shit. sad

    • kevwe

      June 17, 2015 at 4:00 pm

biko, what exactly is the problem, is it the model, the fact that the look book is just released 8 months later or you hate the designer? i agree with @ebiere but you on the other hand need to shut the fck up and stop hating.

Bruno or bingo or whatever you call yourself, It’s disgusting when you cannot appreciate or encourage a person’s HARD WORK but instead you condemn them. Ndidi is gorgeous and the clothes are awesome. Until you can do better or put up your “very handsome picture”, take several seats.

how people honestly cannot be encouraging baffles me a lot… this is not about opinions now… its about stepping out beyond all doubts and making irrespective of the economy or an entrepreneurs challenges in Nigeria still step up nd do somefin for themselves. you have dis designers social platforms if you have any criticism nd you honestly wanna help her grow., why not just go send her a directory message pointing to her all that you would want her changed in her ideals… rather than castigate the living hell out if this lady that has worked day in day out to put her creative dreams to d world … Thank God any of y’all ain’t Jesus… Good job jare mo’fari… keep waking up every morning doing what you do… let d pretty “intelligent critics” keep laying on their beds with their privileged smart phones n keep criticizing…. Never seen no critics on forbes list.. and for the model… those poses fits perfectly. .. you couldnt have done better.

Omowunmi Onifari….they are fabulous! I am amazed! The model is perfect! The make is good! U did a great JOB! Do you!Rome wasn’t built in a day…..consistency and more creativity is all it takes! Please focus on the positive and ignore people that are built, raised and will die with negativity…
