Adamawa to Spend N200 Million on Prayer Warriors & Vigilante Teams in Fight Against Boko Haram

Boko Haram BellaNaija

The Adamawa State Government on Friday announced that it had earmarked N200 million to engage prayer warriors to seek divine intervention toward ending the state’s lingering security challenges.

Abdurahman Jimeta, the Chief of Staff to the Adamawa governor disclosed this in a media chat aired on the Adamawa State Television, which was monitored by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yola.

Jimeta explained that the money was sourced from the state and local governments’ joint account.

“We have earmarked N200 million for prayers to seek for Allah’s intervention in tackling the Boko Haram menace and other insecurity challenges threatening the stability of the state,”  Jimeta said.

He said that part of that money, which would be spent as security votes, would go into assisting local vigilance teams and security operatives.

On agriculture, he explained that the state government had ordered fertilisers worth over N3 billion for the 2015 farming season.

He called for massive support toward the success of government efforts for a peaceful and stable Adamawa, adding that not much could be achieved in an atmosphere of chaos.

Adamawa is one of the three states most ravaged by the Boko Haram insurgency which has caused the deaths of about 20,000 people since 2009.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in May 1976 to gather and distribute news on Nigeria and cover events of interest to Nigeria at the international level for the benefit of the Nigerian Media and the Public.

200 million? I don’t even know I feel about this. I weep for my nation. Which brain did this idea come out from? God have mercy.

It’s not just the brain, but the fact that a collective looked it over, approved it and decided to disseminate this information to the public. They did not even try to hide this fact, they did not hide their faces in shame, but came forward bold as punch, secure in the sanity of their decision. That is what saddens me.
Or maybe the earmarked 200million for prayers is to pay the security. Maybe they figured if they bless the money first then the result will be even better. So you see, they did not set aside 200 million for prayers (to pay alfas etc) but just to bless the money before they go ahead and then spend it on security (smiles at her own brilliance. I can live with my interpretation… the other does not bear thinking about)

**We have earmarked N200 million for prayers to seek for Allah’s intervention in tackling the Boko Haram menace and other insecurity challenges threatening the stability of the state,” **

the above Quotation raises the case for another n200 million for payers to seek for Jesus’s intervention too in tackling this same Boko haram menace. As lets face it, we know how much the xtians too have been victims of it. (they too have prayer warriors)

To throw caution to the wind, in a true n just religious democratic dispensation, the Ifa, sango, bumba, abassi, obatala priests etc (sorry if i left out ur god)………….. the list goes!!! all theses guys too by my calculations need n200 million each too to help tackle the menace!!!

what a joke!! its clearly dawning on me day by day that Nigeria’s problem is really the calibre of skulls defined by thickness that have somehow gotten grip of government and governance!….. smh!

This is beyond madness! Can’t they Invest half of that money into the idps. They should better identify the particular God they are praying to. My God doesn’t collect money to answer prayers. Check the bible and quote me anywhere.

Just when you think Nigerian politicians have hit the deepest depths of stupidity, they figure out a way to prove us wrong and damage what little optimism we have that things cannot possibly be any worse.
