The accused man, Nadeem Mehmood Quraishi, 42, who sat next to her in Economy class, has admitted to touching the lady and brazenly told flight attendants, the victim “needed it” and “enjoyed it because she did not resist.” He also added, “it happened to him as a child.”
In summary, the woman fell into deep sleep after ingesting anti-anxiety medication an hour into the flight. After she woke up, her seat mate, Quraishi, asked her, “whether she had a good nap.” She became aware of the assault when she noticed her hand lotion, which she placed in the seat pocket in front of her was missing. She then noticed lotion was “spread on her arms, chest, and up her legs.” She walked to the bathroom and felt sore, and observed “her underwear had been shifted and that lotion was in her vaginal area and on her underwear.” She immediately reported the incident through tears, to the flight attendants.
The man, who manages a Subway shop (an American sandwich fast food franchise) admitted the assault to the flight crew and was arrested on arrival at JFK – John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, where the case is in federal court.
