22-year-old singer, Christina Grimmie, who rose to fame as a contestant on The Voice and via her successful YouTube page, was shot by a gunman outside of her concert on the night of Friday 10th June 2016 in Orlando, Florida.

Since her death, a lot of celebrities and fans alike have expressed their shock and sent out their condolences to the young singer’s loved ones. Some of them include Adam Levine ( her coach on The Voice), Before You Exit (the band she was on tour with at the time of the shooting), Demi Lovato, Tori Kelly, Hailey Baldwin among others.

Christina was greeting fans outside of the venue when she was reportedly shot multiple times. Her brother was by her side and tackled the gunman, who then shot and killed himself. The singer was then rushed to the hospital and later passed away in the hospital due to complications from her injuries.

In a statement made to Just Jared, her rep said “It is with a heavy heart that we can confirm that Christina has passed and went home to be with the Lord. She was shot at her show in Orlando and, unfortunately, didn’t survive the gun shot wounds”.

The police believe that the man traveled to Orlando specifically to kill Christina and that he planned on going back to his home after he committed the heinous crime. Authorities are currently looking at his phone and other electronics to see if they can find a motive, but as of now, no connection between the victim and the suspect have been found.
