South Africa’s Virginity bursaries branded unconstitutional

The so-called Virginity Bursary Awards have been sparking controversy and causing national outrage in South Africa. A local municipality has been awarding free education to young women, on condition that they remain virgins until they graduate. But a gender commission recently ruled that those bursaries are unconstitutional.
