All roads led to Ibis Hotel in Lagos as Travelden officially launched as a new online travel agency (OTA).
The event which took place on May 27 2016 was well attended by travel industry professionals, airline representatives, Nigerian bloggers and esteemed members of the press.
The launch debuted with a presentation from Managing Director, Lilian Obinna-Igwe who gave a brief introduction on Travelden’s products and services, as well interesting insights on innovative plans for the future.

Travelden is an online travel agency that specializes in cheap flights and affordable fares. They also provide airport protocol services, vacation packages, car rentals, hotel bookings and travel insurance, just to name a few. Other great aspects of the business includes their user friendly booking platform, devotion to customer service and several methods of communication between staff and customers.
Lilian Obinna-Igwe coined the new phase as “a great mile stone for us as a company”.
The travel business is quickly moving away from traditional methods and a lot of online travel agencies are taking full advantage of the opportunities that operating a business online hold.

She also revealed that a lot of effort had been put towards making sure that Travelden met all the necessary requirements of being a solid business. It was also revealed that the process of doing this took about 2 years to get everything up and running.
Speaking on the unique qualities of the company, she said: “We’re not just a normal travel agency, but an agency made up of industry experts and travel lovers.
The crop of staff is a mixture of qualified individuals who cut across the various sectors of the travel industry, traditional travel agency and well experienced e-commerce individuals.”

NANTA President, Bankole Bernard (National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies) commented on the challenges businesses in the travel industry are facing and the ways in which Travelden plans to overcome them.
Each segment of the event was engaging, brief and packed with plenty of interesting information. All attendants enjoyed a grand West African buffet with unlimited cocktail drinks too.
Also, during the event, invited guests received giveaway prizes and 10 lucky winners received Travelden goody bags after taking part in a quiz.

The grand finale prize of 2 free flight tickets courtesy of United Airlines to any North America destination and Etihad to Abu Dhabi were won by the lucky winners through a raffle draw.
