The aim of Michelle’s trip is to tackle the exclusion of girls in education worldwide. “We will emerge together as a group of women to tackle this exclusion,” Michelle said during a talk on the Let Girls Learn Initiative.

On Monday, they visited a leadership camp for girls in Liberia, urging the teens to keep fighting to stay in school.

“I’m just so thrilled to be here with you. I’m here to shine a big bright light on you,” Michelle told the girls.

The First Lady also visited the Moroccan city of Marrakech, where she met with King Mohammed VI‘s wife Princess Lalla Selma.

She is courageous taking her whole family along, and not minding the Implication. More grease to her elbow

Milking the American national cake all you can before you leave office. Enjoy Sistah! “Take the gals on a nice all-gal trip to teach child education.” If you are looking for a place where girls are not getting educated for all sorts of really weird and unexpected reasons, including those brought on by poor governance, come to Nigeria. Not that lovely vacay spot in Marakkech.

She does not need to “milk” anything. She and her husband are millionaires in their own right – and all before they came to the White House. And after they leave the presidency, they’ll be even wealthier. She can afford trips on her own dime – and I doubt very much that any smart person considers a trip to Liberia and a night in Morocco – a “lavish or luxurious vacation”.

People need to stop projecting their own low standards and petty exploitative mindset and outlook on others.

Among modern U.S First Ladies, Mrs Obama has traveled the least. Laura Bush with her two daughters and her friends, traveled to 76 countries on the American taxpayers dime – including doing 3 Safaris. Hillary Clinton traveled with her own mother and daughter Chelsea to 82 countries as First Lady on the American tax payers dime. Nobody had a problem with any of those.

Pity that some Nigerians are so blinded with their own perceived sense of worthlessness and lack of value, that they project that gawd awful crab in the bucket, jealous, narrow mindset and outlook on the historic first black First Lady of the United States.

For your information, no matter what Mrs Obama’s big-hearted and well-intentioned plans are, the U.S State Department and the Secret Service, make the final determination on where she visits as First Lady. This has to do with not only security considerations, but sensitive diplomatic messages and consequences as dictated by the Administration in general.

She doesn’t just get to go wherever she wants to as First Lady. The world has changed and not for the better.

do not be jealous my dear, she is still the FLOTUS and can take up any project she wishes to until her tenure, for the fact that she did not visit Nigeria does not mean that her visit to Marrakesh is unreasonable. you call that Milking the American national cake, so what do you say about our own corrupt leaders who have milked Nigeria dry already by looting our treasures and storing away in foreign lands.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste. Educate a girl, you educate a nation. Listen to the Flotus. A word is enough for the wise. I’ m just saying.

Wow….to think the first and oldest university according to UNESCO was founded in Morocco by a woman and today people are there to promote girl education. How ironic. The world is an evolving place, full of interesting changes and surprises.

This family has done so well to survive the “white” house. Kudos to them.

It’s a good gesture coming at a good time but the choice place should have been Nigeria where Boko Haram has been causing havoc with the aim of stopping girl child education among many other reasons.
