Where is that other girl? The one that was forming presenter/interviewer? This is how it is done. With intelligence, insight, humour, authenticity (no fakeness in accents or mannerisms) and RESPECT. See the sort of research and positive things this interviewer did. The other one, every time she said she did some “”digging””, it was followed by something salacious, scandalous and unprovable, always one rumour or the other. By asking the right questions and by having the right approach and attitude, this interviewer on the other hand, got Omawumi to feel relaxed, and open up and talk not only about her music, her professional aspirations, but also, her personal life i.e. her husband and marriage, her social relationships, her friendship with Waje, the dynamics of that with her marriage and external family and siblings, her spirituality, how herself and her husband met (that Waje was there); all that and without the interviewer having asked direct questions to produce all the responses she got. What a contrast to the one who announced she had been “”friends”” with Omawumi for 7 or 9 years and then proceeded to do completely unfriendly things. That was a famzer and enemy combined. Without announcement or claim to friendship with the star, see how friendly and warm this interview was from beginning to end. A walkout and a warm hug. What a difference! A Tale of Two Interviewers (or Interviewing Styles). Or, How NOT To Interview, and How To Interview. It was the same girl I think who interviewd Banky W. recently also shown here on BN. What a contrast! She had been so schooled by her encounter with Omawonder. Not one mention of “”digging””, not one nasty rumour throughout the interview. Do NOT mess with the Naija!
