Today, we’re giving you 5 fun new ways to eat Watermelon. It’s one of our most popular fruits here in Nigeria that’s available all year round. In this video by TastemadeJen Phanomrat shows us how you can use the juicy Watermelon fruit for a Spanish soup called Gazpacho, 2 refreshing drinks, salsa and even eat it grilled! Who knew you could grill a Watermelon? Here’re the recipes:

 1. Agua Fresca:
3 cups watermelon
¼ cup lime juice
½ cup simple syrup
½ cup water

Method: Blend all ingredients together. Pass through a fine mesh strainer and transfer to a pitcher. Chill in the fridge. Serve with ice.

 2. Watermelon Granita:
1 ½ cups watermelon
⅓ cup water
2 tbsp lime juice
2 tbsp honey

Method: Blend all ingredients together. Transfer to a bowl and place in the freezer. Scrape the mixture with a fork every 2 hours, to create shaved ice texture.

 3. Watermelon Salsa:
1 cup watermelon, diced
½ cup tomato, diced
⅓ cup orange bell pepper, diced
¼ cup red onion, diced
1 jalapeño, minced
1 tbsp cilantro, minced
2 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice
Salt and pepper to taste

Method: Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Serve with chips

 4. Watermelon Gazpacho:
1 cup watermelon, cubed
½ cup tomato, chopped
⅓ cup orange bell pepper, chopped
¼ cup red onion, chopped
1 jalapeño, chopped
⅓ cup cucumber
2 tbsp lime juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Olive oil for serving

Method: Blend all ingredients together. Place in the fridge to chill or serve at room temperature, with a drizzle of olive oil on top.

 5. Grilled Watermelon:
1 quarter of a medium watermelon, sliced into wedges
⅓ cup crumbled feta
fresh mint to taste
Balsamic glaze to taste

Method: Grill watermelon until char marks appear. Serve with feta and balsamic glaze.
