“I’m not worried; I’ve never heard the word ‘padding’ being an offence” – Speaker Dogara | WATCH

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has said that he is not worried about the allegations heaped on him by the former chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin.

Jibrin had accused Dogara and 3 other principals of the House of injecting tens of billions of Naira in the 2016 Budget that has been signed into law. Jibrin also submitted a petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against Dogara, indicting about a dozen other legislators in the process.

“I studied law, I’ve been a legislator, and all these period, I’ve never heard the word ‘padding’ being an offence,” he told journalists after a 10-minute meeting with President Buhari on Friday.
