The economic recession in Nigeria is clearly not affecting only Nigerians but also people in other countries who have a market for Nigerians.

“The exchange rate is giving us a headache,” says one man

BattaBox presenter Harrison Hamson visits one of the biggest car dealing parks in Benin Republic, where he spoke to car dealers on how the economic recession in Nigeria has affected their car sales and business in general.

“The strength of this business comes from Nigerians,” says one man

According to Muhammed – a car dealer in Benin Republic, he said in 2014, they imported about 375,000, in 2015 250,000 cars while this year, they have only imported 60,000, he also mentioned that he hasn’t seen some of his customers in six months since the recession started in Nigeria.

“We’ve lost about 80% of our Nigerian customers,” says Muhammed

Nigerians love their cars, and apparently, majority of the cars plying the roads in Nigeria were purchased from Benin Republic. But are Nigerians still buying cars in this recession?
