P.O.C Lagos breaks Gender Stereotypes with its A/W 17 Collection | Lookbook

Published

 on

At the 2016 Lagos Fashion and Design Week, #BellaStylistas were eager to see new collections by various designers, and P.O.C Lagos was one of the most buzzed about shows.

And it’s no surprise. The Nigerian menswear label has been successful over the years at redefining how we view current mens fashion by defying gender stereotypes and blurring masculine lines.

With its Autumn/Winter 2017 collection, the label was inspired by movement and fluidity. We are treated to kaftans, jumpsuits, open back shirts, embroidery and khaki.

The only gender image being broken is in the overt suggestive images of the models. As for the clothes, looks like lounge wear or pyjamas; hence the need for publicity.

I honestly don’t know how this collection is breaking gender stereotypes. Quit the hyperbole people! Beautiful clothes nonetheless.
