A 23-year-old marriage between Azeez A., a bricklayer, and his wife, Oluwatoyin, a banker, was on Friday dissolved on the orders of an Ikorodu Customary Court in Lagos State on the grounds of the wife’s desertion.

The 40-year-old husband had told the court that his wife left their matrimonial home 10 years ago because he caught her red-handed with a man.

Azeez, who resides at Ipinyewa, off Adamo Road in Ikorodu, had approached the court, asking it to dissolve the marriage which had produced three children.

“I caught my wife red-handed with different men at different times and she left the house because I accused her of adultery. She also threatened my life, I want this court to dissolve the marriage,” he said.

Oluwatoyin, a 40-year-old banker, who did not deny her husband’s claims, also agreed to the dissolution of the marriage.

The Acting President of the court, Adeniyi Popoola, pronounced the union dissolved, saying efforts to reconcile the couple had failed.

“The marriage is hereby dissolved based on irreconcilable differences and the fact that they have parted ways a long time ago.”

He, however, awarded the custody of the last two children of ages 11 and 12 to the woman.

“This marriage is terminated and the husband should pay N150,000 as rent to the wife for their accommodation.

The husband should also pay the sum of N15,000 feeding allowance monthly through the court and should also be responsible for medical expenses and their education.

The first child aged 19 should, however, decide whoever she wants to live with.

Visitation right is granted to the husband at reasonable time of the day on any agreed date he wants to see the children,” the president said.

I’m sure he saw her through college with the money he made from bricklaying. Now that she’s a banker, she feels it’s beneath her dignity to be the wife of a bricklayer. Women! Women! Women!

She accepted the allegations without scruples – she accepted that she was promiscuous. And the dumbass judge went ahead to give her custody of the children, so she can corrupt them morally.

Cherish a dog more than a woman! A woman’s loyalty is fleeting, but a dog’s loyalty is unflinching.

Women have been manipulative and scheming since the days when dinasours roam the earth. Woe unto women!

Too many angry little boys on this blog, yet they are constantly whining about the angry femi-nazis. So what’s the difference between you all? You are all more similar than you realise; frustrated, immature, bitter human beings. The only difference is your genitals. Foolish pots calling kettles black. Lol… Pele oo

I can guarantee you one thing about Nigeria where Right is Left and Up is Down – ALL THE STEREOTYPES THAT WE ENJOY REPEATING ARE WRONG

NO – Yoruba women are not the most PROMISCUOUS

NO – Igbos are not the most MONEY HUNGRY

NO – Hausas are not DUMB

NO – Calabar women are not SEX CRAZED

Who carried out surveys for any of the above? What was the sample size?

Please enough of that nonsense already!
