Eid-el-Fitr: FG Declares Monday & Tuesday Public Holiday



The federal government has declared Monday, June 26 and Tuesday, June 27, as public holiday to mark the annual Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

The declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, on Thursday in Abuja on behalf of the federal government. He urged all Muslims and Nigerians to shun hate speeches and pray for peace, unity and progress of the nation during the festive period.

He said that Nigerians need to join hands with President Muhammadu Buhari led-administration to build a peaceful, strong and united Nigeria as the government is determined to protect all lives and property of Nigerians.

He wished Nigerians a peaceful and rewarding celebration.

    Nigeria make everything a holiday lol I don’t there’s a country with more holidays on this planet.

      So muslims should not celebrate their holy days again? This is not a frivolous excuse for a holiday and your comment is quite insensitive.
      And yes! There are countries with more public holidays. ‘Goo goo’ is your friend
