Deji Tinubu, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Commerce, has died, ThisDay reports.
The immediate past Chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission, Tinubu slumped and passed at a novelty match organised for Lagos Commissioners and Special Advisers.
Tinubu had been on the pitch playing football when he slumped.
He had reportedly been certified healthy at the screening carried out before the start of the novelty match.
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State was present at the event when Tinubu died.
The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), in a statement released on its Twitter, commemorated with Tinubu’s family. They wrote:
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of former Executive Committee member of the NFF, Mr. Deji Tinubu following his sudden demise last night. We are still in shock as we pray for the repose of his soul. #RIPDejiTinubu.
