Maina’s Recall: Court stops National Assembly from Investigating Reinstatement of Wanted Former Pension Boss

The Federal High Court, Abuja, has restrained the National Assembly from further investigating the reinstatement of wanted former pension boss Abdulrasheed Maina, Sahara Reporters reports.

Maina, who is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had in October 2017 been recalled and promoted to the position of Director the Human Resources Department of the Ministry of Interior by the Buhari-administration.

Maina, who has since the discovery of his reinstatement by the populace again absconded, has been confirmed by the EFCC to be wanted.

The National Assembly had commenced an investigation on the reinstatement and promotion of the wanted former pension boss.

In a document obtained by Sahara Reporters, it was revealed that Justice Binta Murtala Nyarko of the Federal High Court, Abuja, had since December 2017 ordered a stop on the investigation by the National Assembly.

The order, dated 13, December 2017, was given on case filed by the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami in the 6th of December, 2017.
