Verne Troyer aka Mini Me dies at 49 | BellaNaijaVerne Troyer, the actor best known  for his role as Mini Me in the movie “Austin Powers” has passed at the age of 49.

Troyer is known to have struggled with alcoholism for a long time.

It is unclear how exactly he passed, but in a statement released by his team on his Facebook, depression and suicide were mentioned.

It is with great sadness and incredibly heavy hearts to write that Verne passed away today.

Verne was an extremely caring individual. He wanted to make everyone smile, be happy, and laugh. Anybody in need, he would help to any extent possible. Verne hoped he made a positive change with the platform he had and worked towards spreading that message everyday.

He inspired people around the world with his drive, determination, and attitude. On film & television sets, commercial shoots, at comic-con’s & personal appearances, to his own YouTube videos, he was there to show everyone what he was capable of doing. Even though his stature was small and his parents often wondered if he’d be able to reach up and open doors on his own in his life, he went on to open more doors for himself and others than anyone could have imagined. He also touched more peoples hearts than he will ever know.

Verne was also a fighter when it came to his own battles. Over the years he’s struggled and won, struggled and won, struggled and fought some more, but unfortunately this time was too much.

During this recent time of adversity he was baptised while surrounded by his family. The family appreciates that they have this time to grieve privately.

Depression and Suicide are very serious issues. You never know what kind of battle someone is going through inside. Be kind to one another. And always know, it’s never too late to reach out to someone for help.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation in Verne’s name to either of his two favorite charities; The Starkey Hearing Foundation and Best Buddies.

NO! Verne Troyer is dead? Waaay to young!

Depression is real. Love one another, be kind, stop always looking for an angle to use another person. Stop encouraging others to use and abuse people that even as little as smile at them. Words like mugu maga bobo nice in the context usually used should not exist.

Back to Verne, his team released a powerful statement. Some entire paragraphs are worth repeating:

“Even though his stature was small and his parents often wondered if he’d be able to reach up and open doors on his own in his life, he went on to open more doors for himself and others than anyone could have imagined. He also touched more peoples hearts than he will ever know.

I LOVE the so called Western World, their openness about issues, struggles, and just common human dignity and decency. This man, his life was meaningful to humanity, even his death, even in death he is still giving…May his soul RIP

“You never know what kind of battle someone is going through inside. Be kind to one another. And always know, it’s never too late to reach out to someone for help.” INDEED, but here where ppl tend to condemn western values, so many are ready to mock and laugh at others, heck they join in adding pressure to whatever one is going through like eagerly waiting for one to just give up. Their words and actions so bitter! I was friendly with a young lady and touched her life as she touched mine, only to be informed that the little bit of kindness shown to her caused her circle to be so jealous of her they almost killed her. As usual in these things I was the last to know.
Seriously loosing interest in this dogeatdog part of the world. Ppl saying class should remain with class?? A little show of kindness that breaks rules of so called ‘class’ actually may kill the other ‘class’??? I am tired, I am also sorry for digressing

oh Verne rest in peace, you have touched my heart just by existing, as you have no doubt touched others
