See #Trending video of Tanker in Maryland dripping Fuel | BellaNaija

A video trending on social media features a tanker with the NNPC logo driving past the Maryland, Lagos underpass, dripping fuel.

The rear end of the tanker was seen dripping fuel with a kid on board trying to clog it with a rag. Of course, the boy was only wasting his time.

The truth is, we must continue to demand security of lives and properties from the people we have contracted that job to through voting, and we must not forget to play our part as citizens.

A citizen is driving that truck, possibly two more beside him/her. And someone is putting his life and those of other road users at risk by holding a piece of cloth against a leaking petrol tank!

We have to do better. Don’t condone or perpetrate indiscipline or irresponsiblity of any kind.

Kerosene or Fuel, this is hazardous to everyone! The boy, the road users, the driver! This is just too ridiculous! We need an innate mental paradigm shift to progress as a nation. Damn!

All it takes is someone throwing a cigarette bud on that road and itvwill.be in flames. You will then blame the devil or Buhari.

The die is cast; DPR do not look aloof while members of NUPENG, NURTW, IPMAN etc. wreak havoc in Nigeria. Logistics is a complex industry and should be managed by professionals only. Quacks should be ready to conform or be exit the industry. God bless Naija

Where’s road safety officials, where’s v.i.o officials, where’s lastma? When it happens again, of course idiots will blame buhari. This video shld be forwarded to the appropriate authorities, and the culprits shld be made to face the law. It’s not enough for the video to trend. Until we begin to punish these animals who do not care about human life, this menace will continue. Shey this one now is buhari’s fault?

First thing I thought of when I saw this was that the tanker came through dripping in Cardi B ‘ voice. On a more serious note, d appropriate authorities need to do something about these tankers

My heart really goes out to the boy.

So no one could oh-I-dunno, ask the driver to pull over and help?

I mean, we’re making progress, that’s for sure. But we really couldn’t just ask the driver to pull over? Or even help? (sigh) eventually we’ll move from armchair analysts to actually doing something.
