Temi Otedola, Amara Kanu, Chidera Eggerue attend Glam Africa Magazine ‘Beyond Beauty’ Cover Release Event in London

On Thursday, September 27th, 2018, Glam Africa Magazine held an event for bloggers and influencers in London titled Beyond Beauty to celebrate the release of their October – December edition by the same name and also launch its free beauty boxes in the UK.

This event saw the international magazine unveil its Beauty Campaign Shoot featuring 9 selected UK influencers who use their platforms to promote diverse beauty, as featured on the beauty cover of the latest issue. These ladies took to the stage to share their stories and discuss what beauty really means, in the various shapes, sizes and forms it comes in. The Beyond Beauty Event was sponsored by several beauty brands including ORS Hair Care EuropeSchwarzkopf Got2bForeo UKAstral UKAll Shades CoveredKUZA products and many more.

The highlight of the day were the panel discussions and hair demonstrations. The first panel hosted by the magazine’s Chief Editor, Afua Adom featured some of the UK influencers featured in the Beyond Beauty Campaign. Each panellist shared their thoughts on how they learnt to appreciate their unique beauty, the speakers were Hodhen Liaden (@hodhenliaden, Blogger and founder of ‘Dark Skinned Hijabi’s’), Joanne Dion (@joannedion, Albion influencer), Lynette Duah (@melachild, also known as Mela Child, dark-skinned beauty influencer), Eva Khyne Sam (@evakhynesam, Vitiligo model), Funmilayo Dami Otuniyi (@thatgirldami dark-skinned beauty entrepreneur and influencer) and Quadruple amputee/beauty blogger Hannah Olateju (@hannahtheamputee)

The magazine’s Head of Marketing, Jacqueline Ilumoka moderated the influencer panel to discuss the rise of social media influencers. Panellists included: Fashion influencer Temi Otedola (JTOfashion), Lifestyle Blogger Chidera Eggerue (also known as The Slum Flower), Fashion influencer Rutendo Tichiwangani (@rlt__) Beauty/Lifestyle Influencer Mariam Musa, Male lifestyle influencer Josiah Hyacinth (Mr200m) and Afrobeats Promoter Junior Adeosun, popularly known as SMADE.

Celebrity guests such as Amara Kanu, Zynell Zuh and Ama K turned up in style to the influencer studded event to celebrate with Glam Africa Magazine. Other guests included some of the most influential media figures in the British black community such as Senor Fenty, Ropo Demure, Debbie Crown, Miss Ghana UK 2017 Sabina Awuni, Presenter’s Shedzi and Monikah Lee, Ehis Ilozobhie, Ohema Faye (Miss Teen Ghana UK), Sincerely Oghosa, and Teeyana Aromi.

Glam Africa is a quarterly print magazine distributed in the UK, South Africa, Ghana and Nigeria (as well as online for free worldwide delivery), showcasing the best of African talent and connecting its readers to the latest lifestyle, fashion, travel and beauty trends.
