Seyi Shay has built an enviable career as one of Africa’s most sought out female entertainers, and has even recently ventured and dabbled in a little bit of acting. Her eclectic and fun style of music has earned her the hearts of many fans from Nigeria, Africa and across the globe especially amongst the younger folks who could relate to her youthful sound. Other than her musical chops, Seyi is a budding style star and her outfits and makeup looks lately have had the ‘gram buzzing!
Seyi Shay has been killing it even more than usual from being dressed by LaQuan Smith (styled by Moses Ebite) for GTB Fashion Weekend, walking the runway for Tokyo James (Woman) at the Lagos Fashion Week finale, covering Accelerate TV’s digital magazine and being nominated for the Most Stylish Female Artiste of the Year at the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards.
In a trend which we think can only be great for our industry, the singer and actress has also been championing looks by Nigerian designers- much like international author and Nigerian treasure Chimamanda Adichie’s Wear Nigerian campaign. Spotted in several looks including a graffiti inspired jacket by fashion brand Pop Artii which looked stylishly quirky on her and several red carpet looks in what seems to be her new favourite fashion brand Weiz Dhurm Franklyn, fashionable trio FIA were responsible for her slay in the laid back oversized orange jumpsuit and neon green two piece.
Her impeccable style has captured our attention, and the fashion industry has taken notice too. Rumor has it that she has secured multiple magazine covers and is soon to be named the face of a major fashion campaign in 2019. This all should come as no surprise, though—her ability to combine vibrant, youthful, and bold elements in every outfit she sports is hard to ignore. Whether she’s rocking her new pixie or rocking waist skimming dark locks – Seyi Shay keeps us riveted.
