Watch this Documentary about the Queen of Headgears, the Gele

See, there is no headgear more elegant than the Gele. Daniel Onyia knows this. And that is why he has directed a short documentary to celebrate the gele.

Shot in London, the documentary focuses on a group of women who, despite being away from Nigeria, feel very much connected to the country through the gele.

There’s Stephanie, who’s preparing for her traditional Nigeria wedding. There’s the entrepreneur Abz, who runs a family-owned African fabric store in the heart of east London. There’s also Omolara, the self-proclaimed Gele artist, who ties the headwrap for many who can’t themselves, and Yinka, the woman behind Gele Tea.
