For our #BellaNaijaWCW feature today, we celebrate Adia Sowho, the VP of Growth a Migo, a cloud-based platform that enables companies to offer credit to their customers, augmenting traditional bank and payment card infrastructure.

After completing her electronic engineering degree at University of Sheffield, Adia joined a mobile operator in the United States of America as a radio frequency engineer with the responsibility of deploying and maintaining cell sites across several states in the Midwestern United States.

She then moved on to business school, bagging an MBA at Kellogg. She joined Deloitte in the US afterwards, as a management consultant, and was there for about two years.

Adia moved to Nigeria in 2009, and joined Etisalat Nigeria as the Head, Strategy and Business. She later became the Head of Digital Media, and then Director, Digital Business where she created Etisalat’s suite of mobile digital products and services across mobile financial services, advertising, content and APIs in what became the business’ first Digital Business unit.

In her over 2 years as Director, Adia 10X’d revenue in 4 years to $100M, and also grew her team’s revenue contribution from 3% to 17% of overall business revenue.

She joined Migo (formerly Kwikmoney) in 2018 as Managing Director, Nigeria (it’s pilot market) and VP of Growth and became the full-time VP of Growth in 2019.

Adia is one of the women in Tech Cabal‘s Tech Women Lagos series which profiles 50 women in the Lagos technology ecosystem from different backgrounds and at different stages of their technology careers.

Adia is a telecom, media and tech business leader who has developed new and still thriving organisational structures occupied by high-performance teams.

We celebrate her and her achievements today and we’re rooting for her!
