From A Simple Beginning to A Fairytale Wedding: Doyin Karunwi and Raymond Dokpesi Jnr Tie The Knot
Doyin Karunwi and her beau Raymond Dokpesi tied the wedding knot on the 18th of July 2009. The couple met at a mutual friend’s house a couple years ago, their relationship then blossomed while they were students at university and now they have committed to each other as husband and wife.
They were joined in holy matrimony at St Jude’s Cathedral in Lagos. The bride looked exquisite in her ice-white Duchesse satin corseted strapless gown with a cathedral train by BN Fave Yemi Osunkoya of Kosibah Creations Couture who flew into Lagos to ensure that Doyin looked stunning on her special day. For the church service, the dress was worn over an ice white silk organza chemise with long tight sleeves that was later taken off at the reception for a glamorous evening look. She wore a matching hood in the gown fabric and appliqué made by Lyze Hats and completed the look with a bouquet of white roses. Raymond Jnr was looking smooth in a charcoal black suit, white shirt and a black bow tie. The Bridesmaids stood out in long gowns in an array of colours while the groomsmen were quite dapper in their black suits, whites shirts and ties in shades of cream and gold.
The wedding was emceed by the duo of Julius Agwu and A.Y, Godbless and his Eboni band got the hall grooving to various hits. The bride was later given an unexpected treat with a surprise performance by Wande Coal, who enthralled both young and old with his reigning hits: Bumper to Bumper, You want it, Ololufe.
It was a beautiful day that guests of Doyin and Raymond Dokpesi will not forget in a hurry as they joined in celebrating the love of the newly wedded couple. We at BN are wishing the couple a blessed and fruitful marriage.
