‘FELA! The Musical’ opens on Broadway



We gave you the scoop on ‘Fela! The Musical’ in August; Now its here! The musical officially opened on Broadway yesterday.
The show which is set to be one of the hottest Broadway tickets of the season is heavily backed by entertainment industry heavyweights including Jay Z and Will Smith.
The role of Fela is played by Sahr Ngaujah and Kevin Mambo.

The synopsis:
Enter the extravagant, decadent, rebellious world of a legendary musician.
A provocative hybrid of dance and Broadway musical, FELA! features the Afrobeat music of Fela Anikulapo–Kuti, a book by Jim Lewis and the direction and choreography of Tony® Award winner Bill T. Jones.

    I watched the play bf the official opening day, this was truly spectacular!!!, unbeleivable, history in the making the cherography, dance, was tight, and off the hook. Bill T Jones did a fantastic job to bring Fela to life. I am calling all on naija in the USA to go watch this play your money is worht it
