2012 Arise Magazine Fashion Week: Christie Brown presents “Xutra”

Published

 on

In their own words “This collection showcases both function and fashion: Multidimensional, yet wearable.” We couldn’t agree more. Edgy yet sophisticated, the “Xutra” is what the femme fatales want!

Here is the official presentation description from Christie Brown.

XUTRA: The artistic fashion world constantly feeds on freedom of expression and need for experimentation. it is only the forced control in “structure” that allows art to emphasize how sophistication and complexity in detail can co-exist with simplicity, discipline and bare bone basics. Underneath the asymmetric structures of the XUTRA garments, lives sheer fluidity and movement. Just as architectural plans serve a functional and aesthetic purpose, this collection showcases the true intention of both function and fashion: Multidimensional, yet wearable. For Christie Brown, the collection represents the essence of our “XUTRA”

The models stomped down the runway in shoes courtesy of Luxury designer shoe brand, MO SAIQUE and all the African, printed fabric used in the Xutra collection was sponsored by Vlisco from their “Silent Empire” Collection.

Now this collection I love. I may not wear everything, but I’ll come close. And I appreciate even the ones that I wouldn’t rock.
