Ngozi and Ozioma met 4 years ago through a mutual friend and sealed their love with holy vows this April.
How They Met
From Ngozi, the bride
Although we had been in a number of the same events before we met we didn’t actually meet until July 2009 when a mutual friend organised drinks at Gilgamesh.
She Said Yes!
The proposal was in Dubai New years 2011/2012. We had just finished watching the fireworks and went back to our room to freshen up. When we got through the door I saw Ozi lower to his knees and for a moment I wasn’t quite sure what was going on. The ring brought me back to reality! It was gorgeous, my dream ring. We spent the rest of the evening on the phone to friends and family telling them the good news.

Ngozi & Ozioma‘s traditional wedding is a colourful and intimate affair. The bride wore an embroidered royal blue and orange strapless dress, and changed into an emerald and wine skirt and blouse, then an emerald skirt with a stunning train and emerald top. The groom looked handsome in white, then complemented his blushing bride in his second attire – green and mustard yellow outfit.
Their white wedding was truly spectacular! The bride wore a strapless Peter Langner gown aptly called ‘Celebration’, which she knew was ‘the one’ when she first saw it! She held a beautiful bouquet of white roses and a cathedral length veil. The groom looked dapper in his grey morning dress from Moss Bross with a grey custom made waistcoat from FavourBrook and a turnbull and asser black and white tie. Everyone danced till dawn alongside the beautiful newlyweds.
Advice from the bride and groom:
Take your time to plan the wedding if you can. We’re so grateful we had 18 months to plan ours as we were able to plan to the finest most minute detail. The most important vendors by a mile are the caterers so make sure you make the best decision there. They will advise on things like alcohol amounts, order of the day, timings, etc which is so important with Nigerian weddings where everything normally runs over! Also the good ones generally have a number of contacts if you’re struggling to find other vendors.
BellaNaija Weddings wishes Ngozi and Ozioma all the blessings and beauty in love and marriage!
