MAI Atafo Inspired Atelier hosts Savile Row Master Tailor | Sartorial Lagos & Stylistas Attend
Ohimai Atafo, the creative director of one of Nigeria’s leading fashion brands – MAI Atafo Inspired, hosted Savile Row Master Tailor Darren Beaman for a 2-week intensive training of the MAI team in production of bespoke Savile Row suits.
On Saturday 7th June 2014, an event tagged MAI Atafo Inspired | Bespoke at his Atelier in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, marked the end of the training.
It was organized in partnership with Chivas Regal Whiskey, in line with the brand’s global strategy of supporting Savile Row Bespoke tailoring.
Spotted at the exclusive event were Isio Wanogho, Ene Maya-Lawani, Chin Okeke, Kunbi Oyelese, Ikane Akhigbe, Bawo Okoro, Chiedu Edozie, Ono Bello, Kazeem Bello Osagie, Michael Lawanson, Francis Obozuwa, Audu Maikori and Toju Foyeh.
The designer who has dressed stars like Waje, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and most recently Mo’Cheddah at the 2014 MAMAs, took guests through the journey tagged Savile Row Inspired.
He stated the drive behind recruiting the services of the Savile Row Academy and the drive to take suit tailoring to the highest international level.
Darren Beaman demonstrated to guests how a typical Savile row bespoke suit is measured. He applauded Ohimai Atafo for his distinction in being the first of its kind to take a remarkable step in influencing Savile row standard tailored suits in Africa.
If the new range of suits by MAI Atafo Inspired are anything to go by, it puts the label among the world class brands which make tailored suits.
All guests at the event who sipped on Chivas Regal Whiskey cocktails and munched on delicious Hors D’oeuvres by Fiona’s Indulgence, were treated to a one-day discounted and personal consultation service from the Savile Row Master Tailor.
The event which was all about celebrating craftsmanship, heritage and style, ended with a lasting impression that fine bespoke suit tailoring is now available through Mai Atafo Inspired Bespoke in Africa.
