Ethiopian Supermodel Liya Kebede, Edun’s Danielle Sherman & 28 other Fashion Designers Join CFDA

Great news for Ethiopian supermodel Liya Kebede, Danielle Sherman – Director of ethical fashion brand Edun and 28 others as they have joined the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).

The non-profit organisation takes in members every year by invitation, and now they have admitted 30 new members who applied for the job via résumés, portfolios and letters of recommendation. The membership is now a total of 478.

Other members who got admitted include Jonathan Simkhai, Tim Coppens, Veronica Beard’s Veronica Swanson Beard and Veronica Miele Beard, Carlos Campos, Ernest Sabine of Ernest Alexander, Raan and Shea Parton of Apolis and more.

According to Steven Kolb (CEO, CFDA) – “These designers are not just uniquely talented, but they also represent, through their businesses, an important contribution to American economy and job creation“.

The brand is known for its legendary awards ceremony which holds every year in New York, but also offers programs that support professional development and scholarships in fashion design.
