Lagos Strip Club Owner Says “University Girls Make N150,000 a Day in My Club”

Published

 on

dreamstime_m_8563471Shina Edo, the owner of a strip club in Lagos called ‘Cave Nude Club’ has revealed to iCampusNG just how much cash the girls who work for him are making.

According to Shina Edo, University undergraduates who work with him can make up to N150, 000 in a day and about N600, 000 a week.

He speaks candidly to iCampusNG about how he set up his strip club, the girls that dance at his club & everything you want to know about strip clubs in Nigeria!

You can check out his full feature on iCampusNG here.

Read excerpts from his interview below.

Where do you get the girls?

We don’t look for them, they look for us. Once you are able to position yourself in this business, the girls would come looking for you. We have accommodation here at no cost and they have all the freedom here, they are making good money and they catch all the fun. We have a clientele, the big boys come here, they come, they don’t pay anything for accommodation, they don’t pay for feeding, their welfares (sic) are well taken good care of and they make good money, so that is why they all keep tripping in. Other girls all over Nigeria, once they hear what we pay them here, they keep coming in and we keep having them, we should have about 70 girls if I am not mistaken.

How were you able to convince them? Was the money part of the luring factor?

Actually the kind of money they make help them to take care of a lot of issues, like most of them are in school and can imagine when you are in school and in a situation where you have to sleep with a guy to get 5/10 thousand or what have you but here you don’t have to sleep with anyone. In a strip club all you have to do is lap dance a guy or sit on him, when you sit on him, you wine and he gives you money, some can give you N5000, some can give you N10,000, some can even give you N20,000, it depends. So the kind of money they make here enables them to take care of their parents, some of them have kids, some of them help their siblings, those going to school take care of their school needs and sort a lot of issues for them.

In this place a girl makes up to a N150,000 in a day that is about N600,000 in a week and when she goes out to tell her friends that this is the kind of money she makes, her friend will want to come too and that is why they keep coming from different parts of the world. We have girls from Kenya, Cameroon, Ghana just name it.

Have you had any parent come here to fight you before?

No, we don’t take minors here, in Nigeria context, a minor is somebody below 23 unlike overseas where a minor is somebody below 18 years of age, so once you are a minor we don’t allow you here in whatever capacity, weather as a dancer or a customer and for guys, once you are under 27 you are a minor and we will not let you in, you must be close to 30 before we let you in, you must be very matured and very responsible.

When you screen the girls what do you screen them for?

A lot of things, we screen them for their body, everything, we do a total system screening on them.

Do you teach them how to dance?

Yes of course, some that does not know how to dance learn from others that knows how too and sometimes in the evening they do practice, if they don’t understand they ask others, so basically they teach themselves. If you don’t know how to poll, we call it polling, you ask others who knows better and once you are taught, the individual is good to go.

If this is truly the case, I like it. Nigeria is not a population of 160 million for no reason. Adult entertainment is a lucrative industry, Maheeda take note. I did not know that under 23 still counts as a minor (which is impressive). I am for this, for women making their own decisions and having their rights protected even as strippers and the like.

BN, “iz dat” one of the dancing gals you’ve plastered a photo of, up there?

And now to the article. Where does one start? According to Mr. Strip Club owner, “you don’t have to sleep with anyone. In a strip club all you have to do is lap dance a guy or sit on him, when you sit on him, you wine and he gives you money, some can give you N5000, some can give you N10,000, some can even give you N20,000, it depends.”

I laugh heartily in Igbo. When the typical Nigerian man will buy a girl suya and high malt, expecting that kind of minimal spend to the gate fee to her bedroom? Jokes for days.

However, this is one of those battles where the people you may be fighting on behalf of are more than content with the exploitation they’re currently suffering in, so … yeah, okay.

You may need to go for deliverance then or maybe your own head calls for a stick of suya &malt

You no see girls like Chika Ike renting yatcht with #24,000 mainly on another nigeria man’s budget? You no see girls wey dey receive Range?

Your analysis of a typical nigerian man is dumb!

Its an average picture she painted, and just as there are yatch buyers, there are also hi malt buyers…. why u feel d need to battle that point fails me. I went to undergrad in naija and i have seen girls justify runs for as cheap as recharge cards…..just as I have seen babes with posh rides they cannot pay servicing fees for unless d maga coughs! …. Do you honestly believe there are more men waiting around street corners seeking who to buy Range Rovers for?? Does this yacht make Chika’s Vagina special? No…. The same fool will dish yacht money and flip d kain chika over d moment d hi malt chic enters his eye. ?… so why make it a national issue worth pursuing deliverance for???… my friend go find better work and seek to add real value!

If making £500/$1000 a day as a stripper is tempting you, you re some lazy heifer. All this talk about a woman’s body is her body she can do whatever she wants is BS. The truth is sex sells, and it sells fast, fast money like that has bad returns. As I said you must be one lazy broad to strip for cash. Break your back doing something reputable. I will rather wash toilets than strip. I’ve got to much damn respect and class.

    • tunmi

      October 21, 2014 at 5:50 pm

I respectfully disagree. Stripping can be a form of gymnastics. All those pole movements require a strong core. Acrobatics on a pole is a serious form of exercise.

      October 21, 2014 at 11:18 pm

Very true but that’s not the point. These girl are not there for cardio, they’re there to make money been nude. If they need strong core they can certainly do that by doing crunches in their dorm rooms….lol

    • Neharra

      October 21, 2014 at 5:54 pm

While I personally will not indulge in such an activity, I respect the decision that a grown woman took for her own body. We are all different for a reason…it’s called diversity. So while you prefer to wash toilets for a fraction of the money, some girls prefer to make $1000 a day dancing for men and they shouldn’t be judged for that. At the end of the day we are terrible by some standard.

Dude its $4000/week.That’s like $208,000 a year which is like N312000000. Idk bout you but I don’t know any college students around me making that much. My brother said I should find they stripping and sign him up 😀 … OMG, he said why do women bother to exercise their brains when all we have to have is a nice body and jump up and down a pole xD I should sooo not laugh at that….

Na to change career be that only I will call myself “exotic dancer” lol! Ms SA if they had strict rules like SOME strip clubs in the west where the bouncers actually watch out for the girls as in if a client pays for a lap dance a lap dance is all he gets no more no less if you try anything funny they throw you out then it can work but this is Naija so I doubt lap dances are all these guys get. N600,000 a week for a few hours work diaris God oooo!

    • Baby

      October 22, 2014 at 11:40 pm

Y not go there and find out? Cos it’s naija u doubt indeed……even the abroad u speak about some of them hook up with the guys they like afterwards…….it’s impossible to have sex with them or touch intimately while they dance so it’s the same with naija here, what ever you do afterwards is your business…..

Yes a lot of men, rich men, go to strip clubs and THE CAVE on Joel ogunaike in ikeja gra is one hot place. As far as I can remember, most of those girls are not Nigerians and yes the house them for free there. That place is not for a child of GOD, but men no matter how placed can do anything for sexual pleasure.

Hi BN I love you a lot BUT…..while I won’t judge people that do stripping as a profession, I would rather this business be a quiet one in Nigeria. This article might be put on here just for clicks but you are actually do a free promotion for this guy. The last thing I want is for this to get mainstream in Nigeria like the ghetto American culture..As for the man, I can’t take seriously or believe someone with so much grammatical errors when it comes to have a suitable welfare for this girls..Dont believe the Hype!… Also Sexual intercourse and sexual connotations/ body touches are still abuse or taking advantage of.

As long as no cameras are allowed and they don’t sleep with the men, then it is just another way to make money. In fact, it is a fast way to save up for their future and pay their way through school and perhaps help their families. It is not prostitution. Teasing men has been part of human history forever and will continue to be. It is just nakedness. If you’ve got it and it can earn you big dough-then flaunt it!

      October 21, 2014 at 6:39 pm

Don’t be naive dear, read between the lines. Like someone said, if it’s some of these western world strip clubs…then perhaps the bouncers look out for the girls and make sure the men don’t go too far. BUT IN NIJA (for all the grammer police reading…did not write NAIJA on purpose!) I highly doubt those men paying will accept only dancing, and please, sorry, but I don’t trust the club owner in the write-up…something about his grammer…weird to have a feeling just by the grammer, I know, but……..

How come we are seeing a picture of what I am assuming is one of the girls in his stable instead of his picture since he’s the one being interviewed or is BN inadvertently advertising for him?

How much of that N150k – N600K are they handing over to Mr. Shina Edo? Because best believe, he is taking a percentage of it.

I will never believe that men in Nigeria go to this strip club to pay this amount of money and they don’t get any but a dance, I can never be convinced. Even in America where customers are not allowed to touch the girls even if she’s straddling a dude, they have ways around it. They have VIP rooms and once someone pays to go in there with a girl or several girls, the club owners turn a blind eye to what is happening behind those closed doors. Some of these girls meet with these men on the outside and turn tricks on the side.

I ain’t gonna knock noboby’s hustle, na between them and God. Work no dey Naija so these girls need to do something to keep body, mind and soul together, there are some who would do it even if there was work but I believe most of these girls wouldn’t degrade themselves these way IF they had any other alternatives.

Strip clubs perpetuate the same ‘ women are sex objects’, the same way modern-day advertisement has so objectified women that they Lie to us that is the only way anythign can sell. Strip clubs, porn all na the same, so saying these girls are earning cash to feed families does not sell. Besides dear owner if the girls make 150k pray tell what do you make?
    Being objectified is not POWER

Whilst I doubt these girls make any amount near 150k , the same men who would so willingly spend money on strip clubs would be the stingy ones who will not give the same to charity, family, friends and yet justify their own pleasure.

Back to the matter at hand, I have been there and can actually testify that all the girls do is give lap dances (unless it’s their personal decision to do more, outside office hours that is). They charge around 5k (if I remember correctly) per dance and you really aren’t allowed to touch.

That place is indeed a crazy place you won’t believe right there a lot of things happens out there at the strip club. A couple sat right opposite me on our table and both husband and wife having their wedding ring on and you both pressing breast. It’s a crazy place indeed the girls where indeed over 50 on that faithful night. My people i never went there i fear getting so used to the habit it’s a place you won’t believe exist in Nigeria it’s crazy. The truth is you can’t do anything to the girls in there except touching their breast. As for the 150,000 naira per day that’s bullshit a confirmed source who is a friend and happens to be the manager’s pal told me the girls are paid between 20,000 naira to 25,000 naira.

“Total system screening” wtf is that? *roll eyes*.. there is something about strip clubs that I do not like. Been to male ones twice and hated it both times, just not my kind of entertainment.

While I will not be judgmental, I do not think doing work like this leaves you unscathed. I honestly believes it does something to your spirit. Lots of suicide and drug abuse in the sex industry, and yes, dancing nude for pay is part of the sex industry.

Applause to Mr Shina Edo. Good PR stunt! You all missed the plot. Dude kept emphasising that they don’t look for the girls, but the girls look for them. Juicy way to keep the girls coming is to lure them with the stated amount. So Mr Shina, how much will your commission be since “no be you they find them”. Interesting the pawn on the average young female. Sad doh

150k Naira sounds a bit more like exaggeration to me, but im not there, so I can only speculate. He sounds like a pimp, so know he will be keeping his pimp hands strong. He takes a certain percentage off the girls earning and the real money comes from the drinks. You pay more for drinks than regular bar. No blood in the clients brain and the only circuit left is been burned by alcohol, so you will give more because you aren’t thinking straight. I’ve been taking “recreational pole dancing” classes and I tell you that class is a killer. The trick behind the climb, the twirl around the pole, the slide down and the drop, you have to have total full body control. Your core, your thighs, your calves, you need full control of it, and just been sexy or appealing doing just simple regular stuff like crossing your legs, or just standing up from the floor, it takes careful thought with desirous appeal. Pole dancing is a workout, I duff my hat to the girls. That said, ladies, please support these ladies, some are in school. Rather than have them swim down your husband/uncle/dad/national treasure pocket, lets help them earn a living. My girlfriend (just female friend before I get the bible thumpers and 14 yrs recommendations), her mom owns the strip joint in the states and she works there. I go there occasionally to support, motor-boat, give out my dollar bills and I take my friends out to the joint to support. Point is, let us support these ladies to get a good education, get a better career and stay out of ya mens pockets and pants. Im a very liberal person, so I believe in everyone having a right to do what pleases them as long as your pleasure is not to my displeasure/inconvenience.

These girls take care of their family and lifes on a consistent salary in our unstable economy in any country (thats if all is true about the salary). they not committing sin (just the same way sex isnt a sin either but it has conditions) ,..its all about choice, if you decide to do it. let it be with you and God. as long as your heart is on God side always. make enough money to get u outta d job if you have to do because of your situation. its a gateway to me.

business is business, as long as no one is forcing these ladies to do what they do, it is a free world. you don’t gotta like it, but you gotta respect the hustle… both of the girls and the owner.

At BN, I do hope that the Strip Club Owner’s daughters and sisters have been signed up since it is a very lucrative job. So shall his daughters do as a means of livelihood

Ummmm I laugh at people chasing money! I laugh even harder at ppl justifying those who do!

When you do what you are born to do, trust me, money will chase you! Do what you love, and do it well! Most ppl are too busy doing what they don’t love, so they have no interest and thus their heart isn’t in it.

Dear BN, Ya’ll need to be accountable for what you put up here for hits. A good number of the comments show how interested a lot of ladies are in the deal. Who knows how many young campus girls will actually go sign up and fall into this sad life. While I agree that everyone is accountable for their actions and its good for us to discuss such topics, I do feel this particular post just glorified the strip club business in Nigeria. #Sad

It’s just sad that some young frustrated undergraduate has read this post and is probably looking for how to contact this guy…
There is no way these girls make up to 600k a week, like it is impossible.. this guy is just using this interview to advertise his business both for clients and workers.
BN i don’t know why you are helping him o………

Y re u all talking as if u re not Nigerians?1st,bad grammer has nothing 2 do wit him being a club owner,he simply has d money. Most Nigerian millionaires re illiterates or semi illiterates.2nd,majority of dese babes will rather prostitute dan work.So if d mugu can pay,y sweat? Some of dese guys who patronise dese clubs re ‘big boys’ who throw money around like it’s going out of fashion.#5k or #20k is rubbish 2 dem. Some of dese girls re my customers, they buy hair at whims.Chiefs n Alhajis give dem money, naira or dollars. It’s all abt ‘ mugu fall, guy man wak’,.D men give out 2 dese dancers as bait 2 come meet dem in their hotels.Weda d girls go after ‘work’ is not d club’s decision again. So go,some don’t.N yes, dere re also d suya n maltina hustling.Slippers get size n runs re in diff categories n levels. There re 5 star clubs n there re also ‘no star’ clubs.Babes full all.

Who no go, no know. They make a lot of money period. If some people can pay over #500,000 for a bottle of champagne, then they can pay up to 50k for strippers, tho some end up pooking the strippers. They are all everywhere, small kuramo, elegushi private beach etc. U all can visit some day and see if it’s actually lucrative or not. Simple.

Iv been in one strip club at adeniran ogunsaya surulere. I was stunned wen a decent looking lady appeared on a pole and gradually and gradually strip 100% for an old man. I almost scream!!!!!! Sooner cues of girls appeared in their varieties. I cant resist this temptations. Finally I enjoyed some lap dance until my pocket was stripped..

    Good lesson for me!!!

The Club owner is just using this to get attention of more young hungry girls as tools to do his business . In the same Club you will pay 5k to enter and all drinks are at or above club rate and I have never for the few times I entered there seen up to 50 guys and you have over 15 girls doing the dancing. lets say that on average every guys must give the dancers 5k which is 250k at the end of the night and when you distribute it among the girls how on earth will that amount to 150k per a girl, He is telling us that on average that every man that enters Cave spends 80K per night . story story
