For once I have to say I share Trump’s sentiments..seriously, being Africa, I wouldn’t be surprised If that judge was bribed…I was not there but I followed this case to the very end and this is just another testament to the fact that there is no justice in the world…It is now between Oscar and God..
My Reeva just died like that…smh

If you followed the case, then pls do share. What part of her judgement didn’t you understand? The judge was very clear and logical in her reasoning…and even in the sentencing.
Even Reeva’s family felt justice had been served and the 5yr term was sufficient.

      Yes she was logical.

But in a matter where a life was taken, the only logic is to compensate fully for that life. After all, in Saudi- people that simply “steal” have their hands cut off to prevent them from stealing again.

If she was to give him 5 years in prison, she should not have included parole.

Additionally, she should have made him pay a huge amount in damages to the family.

Being a celebrity, she should also sanction him to give a percentage of any future earnings to family.

She should have given him the maximum sentence with opportunity for parole after completing 50% of sentence.

If Reeva were the President or someone extremely important, i’m sure the verdict would have been harsher,

If i were the family, i would appeal for harsher verdict. 5 years is simply not enough.

      This life is so unfair.

Mr Trump you are right for this. The judge is a moron and there is more to this. CNN had already started doing some major pr coverage on the judge’s life. Her history as a part of the movt for the end apartheid; all to cover up the race angle. Dolt!

For the first time in my life, I do agree with Donald Trump. The sentence was a slap on the wrist. Just too little, and like he said Oscar Pistorius could be out for less.

Well, Oscar should reach out to O.J and ask him about karma because it is a mofo….
O.J did the same thing and thought he had gotten away with it but fast forward and look at his life now. Oscar will definitely get what is coming to him, it may not be tomorrow, 1yr or 5yrs but I guarantee him that he is going to get a payback plus interest for what he did…

If he was a black man, he probably would have been sentenced to life in prison if not death sentence. Sometimes same applies to if it was a woman. I knw this didn’t happen in US but remember the two sisters in the US who stole I think $7 or so from someone’s wallet and was sentence to life in prison. This happened in the early 80’s they were still teenagers at the time. They were only released a few yrs ago because one of the sister had kidney problem and the other sister needed to donate her kidney for her sister. May God console Reeves family, I doubt they got the justice they deserve.

It is important to make sensible contributions on this blog especially knowing its not Lindas’. Please do read the transcript of the case and follow the proceedings. He did not deny killing her and he was found guilty of Culpable Homicide… Justice has been served.

South African criminal law is different from your country’s and again there is more to a case than public opinions…Lastly, your perception of how low you believe things are done in Afrika is appalling..educate yourself!

The judgment was from the onset to set the stage for this kind of light sentence. Judge Masipa’s findings of facts and conclusions are perverse in my view. How would you conclude that Pistorius heard a noise, he left his bed where he was lying down with Reeva and without alerting her of any danger lurking, took his gun, went to the front of the toilet door and fired four (4) shots at such close range, then conclude that Pistorius did not intend to kill whoever was behind the door. What a JOKE. The same Judge said Pistorius was not a good witness who contradicted himself severally under cross-examination and yet relied on his evidence since he was the only person at the crime scene. I believe the South African Establishment had decided the case before its commencement.

Like seriously? Someone needs to tell trump to face his business and stop shoving his opinion down our throat. I don’t understand why people are crying wolf over this judgement. Fair enough, the fact that he murdered his girlfriend is a key fact in this issue. However, it’s the circumstances surrounding the crime that will determine the level of punishment that should be apportioned to him. Oscar clearly had a very good defence team that maintained his defence and backed it up with appropriate authority. While the prosecutor could not prove intention. Africa or no Africa, a judge can only rule on the amount of evidence presented in court. She is supposed to rule without sentiment. You all should refresh your memory with the OJ simpson case. His lawyer was simply excellent. if the prosecutor feels the sentence is not good enough, then it can be appealed.
