Gunmen Abduct “The Nation” Correspondent, Demand N20 Million Ransom

Unknown gunmen have abducted Abia State correspondent for “The Nation” newspaper Ugochukwu Eke, and are demanding a N20 million ransom.

ThisDay reports that the gunmen accosted the journalist in front of his home in Aba last Sunday, dragged him out of his car, and then took him away to an unknown destination.

The culprits reportedly contacted Eke’s family on Monday, demanding a N20 million ransom for his release.

The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has demanded the unconditional release of the journalist.
