Benue Lawmakers Exchange Blows BellaNaija

There was pandemonium at the Benue State House of Assembly on Tuesday as lawmakers exchanged blows and kicks over a disagreement about who was elected as majority leader.

Daily Post reports:

Lawmakers at the Benue State House of Assembly on Tuesday literally turned the hallowed chamber to a boxing ring after engaging each other in what could be tagged a legislative show of shame.

The brawl, Daily Post learnt, broke out following the election of Barr Adanyi of the (APC Makurdi south) as Majority leader.

Apparently not okay with Adanyi’s election, Hon. Martins Aza (PDP Makurdi North) objected, saying they were 16 in the house so should have the majority.

Argument ensued between two lawmakers in the process who reportedly descended on each other, thus exchanging deadly blows.

However, the timely intervention of other lawmakers present prevented the lawmakers from causing more harm.

This is the change we voted for. If it walks like a duck and it quacks like a duck……..Same yesterday, Some forty senators almost came to blows if not for the intervention of a few sane ones. It is all about the Naira. Plenty of it. Why would any sane human being fight over a post. The last time l checked, it is supposed to be a call to service. You put yourself forward, if the people or your colleagues think you have leadership traits, you are voted in. But we know now, it is survival of the shady. for the pocket. .

Democacy is beautiful but certainly not this type of Nigerian democracy. It is bloated and too expensive. It is all about the money. A few feeding fat at the expense of the majority. Maybe the Army should come back, clean out the mess and let us start all over again.

This is what happens when a nation allows unrefined tomfools to become their representatives in government. I have given up on this lawmakers both at the national and state level, their case is irredeemable unless the people who voted them in decide to revolt, then maybe, just maybe the situation can be salvaged. I bet even the certificate forgers and cultists amongst them will be fighting for a post.

when the white man calls us animals we would start vexing. just look at these monkeys.

if they were fighting to build more schools or build more roads or to increase the miminum wage, that would have been a different case, instead they are fighting for their own personal gain.

This is what happens when thugs invade state and federal leadership.

Stupid men, why did they not fight Suswan when he was looting the states funds? they are here displaying animalistic bahavior. When thier children start fighting to be class captain, they will now be wondering why,
