Great interview but Obasanjo is her husband’s uncle, and she know that so why does she keep saying he’s his Dad? Which Dad will miss his son’s traditional wedding?

    • Jennifer

      March 22, 2016 at 11:06 pm

How do you know 100% that He is NOT. When you don’t have all ur facts together, don’t me so final in expressing your assumption.

    • Lema

      March 23, 2016 at 12:18 am

Jennifer, calm your tits down. Even the Obasanjo family said her hubby isn’t his son but a relation, not even nephew as Jay said. Jay is even helping matters. And if he was his son why isn’t his last name Obasanjo, why Churchill? And his son from which wife? Did you even see him at their traditional wedding? Her hubby is related to Obasanjo and that’s good enough; he isn’t his son. And Tonto herself knows this.

Anyway, Tonto you look great, congratulations!

    • Anoy

      March 23, 2016 at 9:04 am

His surname is obasanjo but for whatever reason he choose to be Churchill. …maybe thats his father first name

    • Shan

      March 24, 2016 at 1:57 pm

Anoy, he isn’t Obasanjo’s son. Please from which wife? Late Stella or Mrs. Bola? Or which concubine? The family have stated they’re related but the guy isn’t his son, and Tonto knows this herself.

    • Quiss

      March 24, 2016 at 2:02 pm

Anon, maybe that’s his father’s first name? Obasanjo’s 1st name is Churchill? ??

I wouldn’t say marriage changed her. I will say, she’s in a different place in her life and when you meet the right person, someone who will help you grow, become better stands out not just marrying. If you call someone your dad, it doesn’t always mean biological. A man that takes care you, teaches you, who is there for you can be called a dad.

What marriage can do to a woman? It is not an accomplishment abi. May we all meet the right people. Hmnn just look at the change, she is closer to God and happier.

    • Surely

      March 28, 2016 at 12:02 am

You sound like you’re not well… Marriage is still not an accomplishment, being a mom is. And that seems to have had an impact on her more than anything.
She cries at the thought of her child, avoids dangling jewelry and excess weaves so she can be “closer” to him and not her husband. As if this is the first time she’s been in love. Her child is the love that influenced (not even changed) her, stop pushing your marriage agenda. Marriage has never changed anyone who did;t want to change. Childbirth has changed SEVERAL men and women because you now see who is totally dependent on you and you minimize your – ups. Not another grown ass adult.

…because people have different accents. As long as they are worshipping Him and giving glory to His name, does it really matter how it’s pronounced? C’mon now, no need for pettiness.

look at this one. thought she said she’s not interested in marriage, she won’t marry an igbo man (at least she stuck to that promise), she doesn’t have time for men, blablabla. what is all this obasanjo name dropping anyways? madam tonto i hope u have calmed down truly for the sake of your child, no child needs an unstable mother. i can never warm up to her.

That is why it is not good to follow follow. You don’t know why that high flying career girl you know is telling you she can’t be bothered about men or she’ll never get married. Maybe she has had bad experiences. The day the right one finds her and she starts talking like Tontoh, na shock go shock you. You better run your God given race in life.

    • Surely

One thing I learnt about her life is that some people are living their lives out of depression and lack of love, until they find someone who shows them love and you see the best in them.

This Interview was totally relatable, they just seemed like two friends who were chattiing and decided to do a video recording. Tonto is truly a changed person, Marriage, indeed can change you if you marry the right person. Congrats T.. God bless your family

    March 22, 2016 at 7:52 pm

Africans can be daft o. So in all that was spoken in this interview, the only thing some of you got was that ‘marriage has changed Tonto’?. Tonto made a personal decision to change. Marriage did not change her. Marriage cannot change a person, and neither can another person. If she’s changed, then it’s because she decided to do so. Smh. All these foolish women out here getting married to cheats and abusive guys thinking that “they’ll change when we’re married” only to realize too late that it doesn’t work that way. Smh. The stupidity is just too much.

    • Olanma

      March 22, 2016 at 8:45 pm

African can be daft? If you’re African, I guess that includes you and your household. Stupid generalization.

    • [email protected]

      March 22, 2016 at 9:01 pm

How dare you say marriage cannot change a person. It can change either man or woman for better or for worse. Have you not heard of women who started doing drugs after marriage or men who became homely after marriage. My uncle stopped smoking after he had his first child. He has been a good man to his wife and children since then.

    • anon

      March 22, 2016 at 9:18 pm

Women actually change after marriage. However, it has been proven that men don’t change after marriage.

    • Lema

      March 23, 2016 at 12:21 am

That’s a wrong generalization. Men do change after marriage, some of them. I know many guys who changed after marriage. And they’re young.

  27. Denise

    March 22, 2016 at 9:17 pm

Why are Nigerians so obsessed with marriage. Tonto found LOVE. It was LOVE that made a positive impact in her life, not marriage. Wasn’t she happy like this when they were doing MrX on Instagram? If anything, maybe its motherhood that has changed anything in her. What is it now? And for those of you that are saying that only women who haven’t found love say that marriage isn’t all that, why don’t their opinions make you comfortable. This is 2016, sheesh. Tonto Dikeh has always been a great person, liberal and fun, yes, but it was probably people like you “marriage is the Almighty formula” people that probably judged her unfairly. So, because she’s married now, all is “forgiven” abi? God didn’t bring you into this world to live and di for men and marriage o. Be there.

In terms of marraige, I believe when you seek God and you shall find a good man. She is glowing and her relationship to God seems stronger. wishing you happiness Tonto! Some experiences just change and humble you.

Many of these Nollywood ladies are like the ‘unserious’ type at school that disturb others during study time but crawl into their privacy to study hard and eventually pass exams with flying colours. It is never a good thing to do follow-follow. This smart, beautiful girl never changed. She has always known what she was doing. The sultry Tonto was for business and she is smart enough not to allow that distract and distort her REAL life. Our Yorubawood ladies have a lot to learn from her.

    • Shan

      March 24, 2016 at 2:01 pm

Yes, she being sarcastic (although that’s petty), because she knows Obasanjo isn’t her husband’s father like Tonto stated.

This interviewe was painful to like. I like Tonto a lot but she can come off rude sometimes . The lady who interviewed her was awful. I wonder what she studied in school . She told Tonto her hair was cute ( she lied) and afterwards she was stuck in a daze.

Anyways nice to see Tonto happy.

I just wished she would have worn better hair!
