Tope Aluko & Gov. Fayose settle their Public Dispute following #EkitiGate
Estranged member of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP Tope Aluko and governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose have declared truce after peace talks.
Aluko, who was the former state secretary of the PDP had accused the party of betrayal. He also accused the party of rigging the June 2014 gubernatorial elections that brought Fayose to power; a claim he denied in a lower tribunal last year.
Speaking to newsmen, Fayose said, “If I leave him to the whole world, who will be there for him? Nobody. I am his father, I am his brother”
Asked if he had forgiven Aluko he said, “Aluko remains my boy, my son.”
Reminded that he talked about being betrayed in his interview on channels television and whether he has gotten what he wanted, Aluko said, “This is not about position. This is about peace… This is about family communion….”
