Aunty Bella: Ms. Confused About Schooling Abroad
Good afternoon, I would like this to be featured on the Aunt Bella column due to the depth of advice received. Please protect my identity.
So I was married in 2012, divorced in 2013. I was living in the US with my hubby who only wanted me to stay at home and get pregnant.I knew it was not the kind of life I wanted to live so requested to come back for a break. My hubby filed divorced papers and after 3 years I am officially divorced.
Now I would describe myself as a relentless and tenacious hardworking woman, with big dreams. I came back very poor but had to work my butt off to find a job.
Managed to save a lot (live a very frugal life) and in addition to the settlement I received from my ex, I have enough money to continue my Masters degree in Europe.
It has always been my dream to have a Masters degree, one that will spearhead a successful career in Economics, and I have gotten to the point where there is an intense fire to actually achieve this dream. I close my eyes and thats all I see.
I have gained admission to one of the universities in Germany, and as anyone is familiar with their system, even though there are no tuition fees, you need a minimum of 8040 Euros for a year’s living expenses. As mentioned earlier I was able to get this money through my savings, took a loan from the bank (have to repay for the next 3 years), and also the financial settlement received from my ex.
I am more than determined to succeed to my Masters course ), however with any success story preparation is a key component.
I want to gain as much knowledge as possible about schooling abroad, preferably Europe and preferably in Germany. I only have enough money for a year and my plan is to work and school to earn enough money to live on for the second year.
So my questions are:
1. What are the ways to make use of all the opportunities that come from schooling abroad?
2. What are the tips to academic success?
3. How do I manage my finances to ensure that I live on the barest minimum?
4. What are the easiest ways of finding a job?
5. I really really want to succeed? Any tips? Experiences?
