Aisha Buhari

Aisha Buhari

This August, when Aisha Buhari was in in the USA she carried an Hermes Birkin Porosus Crocodile bag with charms at the airport and it had many people talking – click here if you missed it.

She is currently in New York, USA with her husband, for the 71st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 71) – click here for more details of her trip.

The wife of President Muhammadu Buhari has again been sighted with an expensive piece – a diamond and steel watch by Chopard. The watch is in the “Happy Diamonds” category of Chopard watches.

The timepieces are described as,

Chopard’s most iconic ladies watch collection. Happy Diamonds watches are a true must have for free-spirited women who like to differentiate themselves.

The watches in the category that resemble the piece she’s wearing range from £10,000 upwards. The expensive purchase was first spotted by TheSignalNG

Hmmm would this wristwatch tell us the time when the trumpets shall sound on the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ?

    • zule zu

      September 20, 2016 at 4:13 pm

I am sorry to say there is no Trumpet. No one is coming. Just live your life and when you’re old die gracefully. Avoid dangerous places, save some money now. invest in a pension plan. . Once death is at the corner accept it and sleep easy :D.

Double-talk. I remember when Diezani’s trinkets were listed some time ago. Most peeps were like ehen, with her position what do you expect?

First Ladies the world over receive lavish gifts. It is not corruption cos they are not public officials. If you wont dash her someone will. It goes with being a First Lady.

    • Shady

      September 20, 2016 at 10:05 am

I don’t know about Diezani but it is corruption. Not necessarily because she stole it but because there should be guidelines for public servants including the First Lady on receiving gifts. If it is above a certain level, it should be turned down. That is what happens in multinationals and governments across the world. The reasoning is that if someone gives you a gift that is considered expensive, it puts you in a difficult position to turn down a request from the person that gifted you. It puts the recipient in a vulnerable position.

Perhaps, you should google the US policy for gifting the First Lady and the President. Items above a certain amount are considered gifts of the state and some are even kept in the Nationals Archives.

I haven’t been back in Nigeria for long but it’s quite shocking to know that a lot of Nigerian youths don’t know this and make excuses for our leaders. These are the kinds of changes we should demand from our leaders. In the US, the gifting policy is enshrined in the constitution so you can’t say you did not know. For a man who talked so tough on corruption, I am quite shocked that he hasn’t done more to strengthen our anti-corruption agencies. It wasn’t right in the Jonathan’s time and it ain’t right now!!!!

But Deziani’s husband didn’t beg for money to buy a nomination form because he couldn’t afford it or tell the world he had just N2M

      September 20, 2016 at 12:16 pm

It is corruption for serving public officers to receive gifts as it may influence award of contracts. Ghana President is on hot seat for receiving a car gift from a businessman.

    • fleur

      September 20, 2016 at 12:21 pm

Your second paragraph is alarming. First ladies have influence on their men in working marriages. So yes, people are known to access presidents and leaders through their spouses or best girlfriends. Let us not trivialize these kinds of things. It’s all corruption whether overt or otherswise

Uhn y’all talking about the watch. Her necklace is most likely real gold and cost more than the watch. #Change! Buhari has accomplished his goal of pocketing more money for his thieving family, if he dies today, he would die an accomplished man

Right now ,Buhari had blocked others from stealing which is good,as the stealing was from local government level before ,now the stealing is Buhari, his Wife Aisha, his kids and his Daura Clan in top strategic positions stealing Nigeria blind! I hope he is keeping records of our petroleum account as Minister, because it will be disastrous to be guilty of the same corruption, after selling fake fight of corruption to the world!there will be no place for you and your family to hide, not even from the Nothern masses ,as they are the ones most hit by hunger and famine in Nigeria right now.

But how can she wear such an expensive wristwatch and Hermes bag that cost so much money? Where is she getting all these stuff from? The most annoying thing is that she always displays her ignorance anytime she goes to the U.S wearing such expensive pieces. Doesn’t she know that they would be scrutinizing her there also? What is wrong with this woman for goodness sake? Let her kontinu ( in Patience Jonathan’s voice)

    • AceOfSpades

      September 20, 2016 at 10:32 am

I’m here for Linda Ikeji! You know what subtle means right? When you have something so simple but expensive. People look at your small PJ like it’s not a big deal but there is a mini-conference hall in it, bedrooms (yes bedrooms) with flat screens, 4 toilets, one private mini bar (where you can have a quickie with wify/hubby or girlfriend/boyfriend) and you can have 2 pilots on standby but people with ordinary Toyota corrola will look at it and say ‘that PJ is small, Vladmir Putin has a bigger one.’

Step77 there are simple but expensive things you hear? That Iheoma engagement ring might be small but damn that ring would be expensive and so is that same ‘thing’ the First Lady is wearing! You don’t have to be loud to make a statement!

  12. oo

with the way this present administration is, I bet the Biafrans and the Niger deltans are waiting for the right time, imagine oo 5.5millon naira watch while am still praying to God for admission to federal university since 2011 cause it less expensive, if I were to go to private university I will not spend up to 5million naira through out my four years in school but my parent can’t afford it. God where is your face, I need you, the rich are oppressing us here in Nigeria

    • Isi Nne Mummy!

Don’t worry, God will come through for you in Jesus name.

    • Lacey

      September 20, 2016 at 6:28 pm

@Lord have mercy instead of staying at home since 2011, why not look for money and write GRE and TOEFL,start looking for schools in the US,if your score is very high and you are favored , you might just be favored who knows , instead of waiting for over 5 years to get a degree! Just research , you never know!

Chill guys! Freeze spends a fortune on time piece. I don’t see what the big deal is. Whether it’s a gift or personal purchase doesn’t count here. Haba! Pay less attention to her shoes, bags or jewelry. There are more pressing national issues.

  16. Stephanie

    September 20, 2016 at 9:10 am

First of all, do we actually know when she got this watch or even how? Is it that Nigerians want to say the president or his wife at what age and stage in the life the led before coming to be your slave did not have 10k pounds?? This is the mentality we hold on to that we expect our lives to get better? Or may the problem is that she’s showing off when others don’t have? Abi? But she is the wife of a president! She is always going to have more than you. Your driver has not eaten this morning and you’re going to do 5k nails.

    • Celeste

      September 20, 2016 at 9:41 am

Did you just come out from underneath a rock?

Where were you when Buhari told Nigerians he couldn’t afford the APC presidential nomination form and that he borrowed to pay.

Since you just came out and now use internet, do a quick search on what Buhari declared as his assets and tell yourself if what he declared matches his family lifestyle.

This family sold a dummy to gullible Nigerians that they were a modest austere one, so it shouldn’t be surprising when people talk when we see such display of wealth you claimed not to have

    • Celeste

      September 20, 2016 at 9:54 am

And we are in recession, and that fraud of an economic adviser to Buhari is asking us to sell off our assets and valuables to help the economy. Why not we start from the wives in government.. Mmes. Buhari, Tinubu, Atiku, Saraki and co?

    • Shady

      September 20, 2016 at 10:10 am

Stephanie, please read my earlier comment. I used to be so upset reading comments like this but now I realize that you guys probably don’t know better. It doesn’t happen anywhere else in the world except corrupt places like Nigeria. It puts the recipient in a difficult position. And this isn’t even just public officials. As an employee of my previous employers, we had a gifting policy that protected us (especially the senior employees) because you could get into a lot of trouble. To demand better is what will make Nigeria better.

  17. Prince

    September 20, 2016 at 9:36 am

I was expecting this and you guys seriously fall for it. How wetin she wear concern una. Why must we always watch out and put a price tag on anything this Lady wears. She was doing very well as a businesswoman before she became Nigeria’s first lady
How much wrist watch was found on Jide Omokore’s wife? 1.4million pound.
    Let this woman be please.

When pastors are buying jets and living large people say it is gifts they are collecting? Pls as we all criticize aisha here let’s all come together and criticize our pastors ! We all know ‘ gifts’ are a code name for ‘ I can’t tell you how I got the money to buy it’

To Shady and Cele, well done !May God continue to increase your wisdom!
To people like Stephanie,Prince, oo and their likes, receive wisdom from above!!!
To those that mentioned Linda and Freeze here, please visit a psychiatrist soon!

Dear Nigerian youths, please strive to know the law of your country ! A watch of 5.5m or above and you are here making excuses for her???
I am sure that majority of those defending her, have never had 1m in their accounts but here you are, biased, confused, naive and foolish saying its no big deal!
How much is your annual salary?
How much is your school fees?
How much is your yearly house rent?
How much do you spend on clothes and feeding and overall upkeep yearly?

Have you summed it up? Is it up to 5m? Be honest!

Be wise! Call a spade a spade! We are called the leaders of tomorrow……That tomorrow is now! Lets start reasoning like LEADERS!!!!!!

  21. Stephanie

    September 20, 2016 at 12:53 pm

I’m sorry, you really expect a thinking man to use all his money to buy form because GOD has called him abi? Sense should tell you to protect yourself first in business. Did Aisha declare her assets too? Was she not doing something with her life BEFORE entering into service? I’m not saying there is nothing shady going on. But it’s getting increasingly tiring the way Nigerians first jump on the negative to make themselves feel good in life

  22. me

    September 20, 2016 at 2:12 pm

Thank you signal ng can’t see her lingerie, the price tag might get you sending in the FBI and CIA to investigate her finances for excessive spending!!! Why been so petty? She can’t be the highest spending first lady.

  23. tunmi

    September 20, 2016 at 2:30 pm

She could have bought it well before now. I think Nigerians keep forgetting folks up North are seriously wealthy (and also seriously poor, but that’s another thing). Also Buhari’s assets are not her assets. She wasn’t asked to declare her assets was she? Would someone come and say Michelle Obama can’t afford something similar? It would be sensible to not show off your wealth with the nation as it is, but it doesn’t make it illegal.

  24. Gorgeous

    September 20, 2016 at 4:08 pm

I understand her desire to wear fine things. But we are in a recessions and she should try to tone things down a bit. She is passing so many perceptions around that is not in her husbands best interest.

  25. kandy

    September 22, 2016 at 4:06 pm

This lady is living her dreams.. She is a very classy first lady better than her predecessor.
