BN Cuisine: Here’s How to Make Nigerian Chicken Pie on Chef Lola’s Kitchen | Watch



In this video, Chef Lola shows us how she makes one of Nigeria’s favourite snacks, Chicken Pie. It’s possible to recreate this pastry with a different filling like fish or just plain vegetables but here’s what you’ll need for Chef Lola’s Chicken Pie;


For the Chicken Pie Filling

  • 1 Pound Ground Chicken
  • 1 Cup Diced Potatoes
  • 3/4 Cup Diced Carrots
  • 1 Small Onion (Diced)
  • 1/4 Tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/4 Tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 Seasong Cube
  • Salt To Taste
  • 2 Tbsps Veg Oil
  • 1/4 Tsp Curry Powder
  • 2 Tbsps Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Water

For the Pie Pastry

  • 4 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 120g Butter (8-1/2 Tbsp)
  • 120g Margarine (8-1/2 Tbsp)
  • 1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
  • A Pinch of Salt
  • 1/4 Tsp Nutmeg (optional)
  • 6-8 Tbs Water

    Yummy!!! I miss see my meat pie and chicken pie Nja style!not all this tart and cherry pie wen person dey see here!I will have to bake my own pie then!thank you for this recipe to remind someone o!i have not baked in a long while !

      you can get Nigerian meatpies and chicken pies all over the world though, Especially in European countries and most of North America.
