4-year Old Refugee Reunites with her Mother after 5 Months Apart | Watch the Touching Video

Four-year old Oumoh met her mother for the first time in 5 months in what is being described as a “rare reunion” as over 21,000 refugees arrive in Italy yearly with more than 2,000 of them being unaccompanied minors.

Her mom had fled with her from Ivory Coast to save her from Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) after which they got separated in Tunisia.

Oumoh was then rescued by Italian coast guards from the Mediterranean in November 2016 and was identified shortly after by another refugee child from a photo she had seen on someone’s phone.

The mother had to this to say

I didn’t abandon her. I would not abandon my child; She is my child, she is my blood.

A refugee child was alone when rescued by the Italian coastguard.
