Women aren’t born with pre-installed motherhood software – TwitterNG User shares views on Child Care

Published

A TwitterNG user Ozzyonce aired her views on child care in a series of tweets.

She’s of the opinion that women aren’t born with natural parenting skills, and come to learn it “on-the-job.”

She says men have been able to get away from childcare because of these assumptions.

What do you think?

Because there’s nothing to critique, she said nothing false. It’s also a lot of truth for people to take in. Nigerians think gender is this wired thing, as opposed to socialisation, but gradually, things are getting better. Women no longer care about being shamed at the expense of happiness, which is great

And women act as if men are born with the ”he must be the provider of all my wants and needs software”

If only you stopped hanging around runz girls then you’ll realise that a vast majority (yes) of Nigerian women are industrious, secretly breadwinners or 50/50 providers. From hairdressers and groundnut sellers to bankers and teachers. I’m sure if you check well most of your tuition was paid by your mum. I blame Nigerian women because they pay these bills and keep quiet to feed the man’s ego but it only backfires on them in the end. You people should let go of the bs ‘nigerian women are goldiggers’ rubbish, afterall the laws of patriarchy are decided by men. If a woman is to cook, clean, birth, do take home assignment with children, laundry etc, she should be paid sef. Afterall how much do nannies get paid for doing all of that, and you want to shame women into doing it for free. Seeing as we’re dealing with facts, I hope you know most lending houses in Nigeria prefer to loan women as opposed to men who will use the money to spend on girls. Who then, are the irresponsible ones? Atiku himself tweeted this. Now, goodnight
